Moyes made Hughes look daft. He hasn't made Mancini look daft. Sure you have beaten us the last three times you played us but the last one was a complete travesty.

Lescott's form is nothing to do with coaching. It's his complete lack of concentration and rash decision making that is his problem. He is a disaster waiting to happen every time he takes the field.

To be honest, you are about the first Everton fan I have come across who has actually said that they thought he was a great player for you. The vast majority I have met did not think he was fit to lace Jagielka's boots.

The fans who claim to have not rated or liked Lescott are just bitter about his move and how he went about it, particularly how he approached his last game for Everton. He was brilliant for us. Defensively solid and he would go on long penetrating runs from either centre back or left back. Any games where we were losing late on would see him thrown up front in an attempt to get a goal.

I've never been a regular at Everton but went to quite a few during his spell at Everton. He was always one of the most popular players throughout his spell. Plenty of clamour for him to play for England and lots of chanting towards him.

Nah, I've not snapped, just aggressively ranting to amuse myself, oxymoronically. But, in all honesty, how Rooney behaved was worse than what Babel done, IMO, but it highlights how obtuse the FA and their rulings are.

Questioning a refs integrity is far worse than having a pop at the ref. If they charged Rooney they'd have the charge the majority of LFC squad each week.

'Having a pop'? You see, you intentionally 'minimize' Rooney's offence to having a pop. It was a full-scaled verbal assault. Babel was guilty of foolishness or re-tweeting a picture suggested many things, one of those being cheating, but I think it was simple 'banter', that's not LFC bias, it was stupid for a professional to involve himself in such childish banter, but I believe that's all it was. Whereas with Rooney, I feel it exceeded the proverbial line, there's challenging a ref, there's getting your point across, then there's that. Foul, abusive and needlessly aggressive, but nothing has been said of it, that's what I don't get. I'm not saying clamp down on everything (although we should eventually follow RL), but there are some cases, like Ashley Cole's a few years back, like Mascherano's and like Rooney's on the weekend, that are simply 'too far', to the point where the FA have to step in and act on the player's behaviour.

Getting into a widge measuring contest about what was worse bores me, but the fact one has been acted on, whilst the other has been completely ignored, speaks volumes about the FA and how farcical their dictatorship of English football is.

poor wind up attempt Rob - 'one of those is cheating', the whole suggestion of it, on a social networking site was that Webb was a cheat or biased..i can't see what else it might have suggested.

My opinion of Lescott was that he gained an enhanced reputation at Goodison, due to his outstanding goalscoring record.....As a defender he was decent, not brilliant. Certainly, if Hughes truly 'scouted' Lescott, then I don't know how he came away wanting Lescott and not Jagielka, because Jags is the better defender.

I actually thought Lescott was a better full back than centre half.....As a centre half, he often struggled in the air, which isn't something you want in a guy you are paying £20m+ for!!

He was saying the ref was on your side for the day, which some people see as a full scale attack on the ref, claiming him to be a cheat. I see it as a sort of jovial picture, retweeted in such a way that would be seen as casual banter between supporters. He got involved, he shouldn't have, but I don't think anybody seriously believed Webb actually cheated, they just deemed him biased to the home side and coincidentally poor. There are various ways to look at it, but that's how I look at it when I consider Babel's idiotic character and his quite childish ways on Twitter. You, being a United fan, will see it as an indefensible suggestion of cheating, obviously, which is fair enough, but I still think when you look at the two situations for exactly what they were, Rooney's behaviour was deserving of similar punishment.

I think the main difference between the Rooney incident and Babels brain fart is that the Rooney incident was a heat of the moment thing. He was most definitely in the wrong and got a booking for his troubles but has probably got away with it in the main due to it having been in the heat of the battle. You really can't compare the two incidents if truth be told.

I think Lescott is one of those players that needs to be playing every week to stay sharp both physically and in terms of his decision making. He made a sluggish start at City, then for a couple of months played very well, but then had a couple of injuries and has never re-found any form. He may have been a better full back at Everton but when he's played there for City he's looked very uncomfortable.
