The AL playoffs are going to be very interesting. All 4 teams have been less than convincing towards the end of September. It really is anybodys at this point I think.
Just watching the Giants-Pads game right now. Exciting stuff happening in the NL.
I'm shouting for the Reds in the post season, although I do hope Halladay does well in his starts.
As for the Jays, we surprised a few people this season and ended up 10 games better than 2009. It was definitely the year of the long ball for us. Bautista finishing on 54 HRs (a new club record by some margin), John Buck and Johnny Mac also had career high HR numbers this year. We also finished with a new club record for team HRs (257) which ties us for 3rd on the all time list. Finally we hit 20+ HRs from every single position. We were certainly a lot of fun to watch but I'm hoping for a bit more balance in the offence next year.
As for the starting rotation, it surprised the hell out of a lot of people this year, me included. Marcum, Romero, Cecil and Morrow all look like the real deal and I can only imagine that next year they'll be even stronger. We have healthy competition for that 5th spot too.
Biggest questions marks are 1B, 3B and catcher. Not sure what move AA is going to make regarding those positions. Will be an intersting off-season. But in the meantime, GO REDS!!! (and Doc)
