I've seen Pac gas in the past (most notably against Marquez). But I think that was more through boiling down to make weight than anything else. Now he no longer needs to shed the pounds he looks very comfortable. I certainly didn't detect any evidence of stamina problems against Cotto or Clottey.

I just can't see how Floyd wins this on points. Yes, he will almost certainly be the more accurate puncher - but unless Pac starts air-conditioning the room with his shots he's going to win on punch count, which American judges seem to favour over accuracy. Besides, Floyd's hands are phucked. He can't afford to risk breaking one or both again in an attempt to match Pac's workrate.

Matt: Hatton was almost ready to go in the second round when Mayweather caught him sweet. Which is what he must try to do against Manny.

The other thing is - do not underestimate Mosley. Shane is a genuine ATG and a very dangerous opponent for both fighters. Yes, he lost out to Cotto. But it wasn't like he was blown away. And Cotto was arguably at his very best that night.

Can't see that happening. Roach thinks Margarito is too big for Pac. It's the same with Mosley, who they've tried to haggle down to 140 without success.

Looks like Valero is the next target. I didn't know that there is a clause in Mosley's contract which states that if he beats Mayweather, Floyd gets an automatic and immediate re-match. That could delay proceedings considerably. Valero packs a mighty wallop and Pac couldn't afford to leave his chin open like he did against Clottey. But Valero is also hugely inexperienced at this level and his defence isn't anything to speak of. Looks like EVERYONE on the planet wants a piece of Manny - including Eric Morales (for a fourth bout) and even Yuriorkis Gamboa - the hot Cuban talent whose attacking skills are off the scale (whilst his defence hides somewhere in a basement). Bob Arum has stated that there is no chance whatsoever of Manny fighting Floyd if he has to submit to additional testing. I wish he'd just stop and think for a moment about what that statement implies.

Never thought that much of Carpenter - mainly because he allowed that relationship with Bruno to be fostered, which rang more than a few "Uncle Tom" bells with many.

Reg Gutteridge was the best. Don't mind Larry Merchant or Darkey, either. Barry Mac knows his stuff, but he has the annoying habit of repeating the same phrase a dozen times each fight.
