Many United fans on Twitter seemed to think it was Hummels and Kagawa. Dortmund don't strike me as a club that need to sell their players. I'm unsure what the deal with Kagawa is, is he going into his last year or does he have a Sahin-esque 'clause'? Either way, Dortmund have Reus coming this summer so they have another fantastic attacking midfielder coming in. I fancy them to do a lot better in Europe next season, maybe even reach the QFs.
Can't see Dortmund letting them both go. They aren't short of a few quid, but Reus did cost them about £17m didn't he? Not small beans for a German club (aside from Bayern.)
Kagawa would make sense, as well as being a top player it is obvious that appealing to the far eastern market is an important part of the United strategy. Hummels would help complete a promising young back line.
Although they do probably need another out-and-out striker. Barrios hasn't been up to much this season.
Would be interesting if Dortmund could hold on to their backbone for another year or two, whilst making a few additions here and there, and just see if they can make it to the business end of the Champions League
Hummels, Subotic, Kagawa, Gotze and Lewandowski to name just a few - the talent is certainly there.
