Judging by todays T&A article SM now seems to have realised that we need to have a more physical approach in this division, we'll just have to wait until next season before it can happen.

City sign Lee Bullock on loan, the midfielder we desperately need. No idea if he's any good mind. But as long as he's more than 5ft 5 and has a bit of balls then he can't be any worse than what we already have.

Well after today we are halfway through the season, we should be safe from a relegation scrap while there's too much to do for us to make the play-offs, though hopefully we'll go on a decent run between now and the end of the season to give us a little hope ahead of next term.

I was expecting an upper mid table finish and we should still be on course for that, I was hopeful that we might have had a crack at the play-offs but that run of 5 defeats in a row in September/October put paid to that, I do think we are improving though as SM learns about management (and the division) and we're not on that bad a run of recent form - we only seem to be getting beat by the top teams at the moment.

It was always going to take more than just SM's return and big crowds to arrest 7 years of decline and the effect of 2 admin's and I think the biggest mistake the club made over the summer was talking themselves up (ie SM saying he'd consider it a failure if we didn't go up) but I guess they had to do that to get bums on seats, hopefully everyone can learn from what's gone on so far this year and we'll be in a position to challenge next term.

It would have been 1 more if it wasn't for dodgy misinformation from our ticket office (not that I'm surprised).

I called yesterday but was informed all tickets had been sold, and there would be no pay on the day - a friend didn't know this and just turned up today and got in no problems.

Seems there were a few of our fans in the home ends too, Accrington staff were apparently telling people with kids that if they went into the main (home) stand their kids would get in free - but they'd have to pay to stand on the designated away terrace, which was nice of them!

Makes a nice change, especially as you'd have thought Accrington would be looking to make as much money as possible out of the day. Bit like an FA Cup tie for them in terms of away support.

This week: Four keys to a Rhinos win in the WCC

Decent enough return over the festive season (first half against Hereford apart). Bit of a shame we haven't been able to sort out a fixture for the weekend to keep some of the momentum going.

Anyone who went yesterday care to comment on Colbeck - has the time out on loan done him some good or is he still all effort and no product?
