Sturridge scored 8 goals in 12 games at Bolton.
He's never really been given a chance at Chelsea. I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that he'd have scored far more than Torres did had Torres been dropped when he wasn't performing.
I like Sturridge. I think he can be a very good, possibly a great PL striker. So I don't want him going to Liverpool. I think him going to Liverpool would help them significantly, so I'd be pretty peed off if our club management let him go there. But if he did go there, then it would have to be for a Carroll-esque stupid OTT fee. But a loan deal is simply ridiculous from my POV.
I wouldn't feel any animosity towards Sturridge for leaving us - even to Liverpool. I don't think the club have treated him properly, I think the supporters have offered him very little support while bending over backwards to support Torres. If he goes to Liverpool almost all my anger will be at the CFC management. The Benayoun loan to Arsenal was ridiculous, Sturridge to Liverpool will be many times worse. You just shouldn't loan a player to a potential rival.
