I've slipped to 8th now with Wigan after two defeats at Fulham and Blackburn, I now have a game running with Manchester City. Looking at signing Mexes, Rafinha/Srna, and a midfielder. And looking to offload Petrov, Garrido, Johnson and maybe Zabaleta. Any suggestions for midfielders or right backs ?
Out of interest who did you sell to make those signings ? I bet it cost around £100m for them all.
It probably cost over £100million, not sure exactly. I'll check later when i'm on. However, i sold Petrov (£10million) and then the likes of Garrido and Benjani were involved in swap deals along the way. They gave me a budget of over £70million (to challenge for the title) and then i made it higher by giving myself less wages to use, so that took it to over £100million all together. I sold a few more reserve players, but not big names.
I signed the likes of Gago, Rodwell and the other young lad who i can't spell for less than £10million each, and then i signed Srna for just over £10million, all reasonable deals. I don't think i spent over £20million on one player, apart from Mexes who cost about £22million. I also used installments and other clauses, which makes it a little easier. Looking to have a bit of a clear out in January too of some players that haven't played such as Zabalata.

I play Srna at right back, always seems to do a decent job for me. Not overly expensive anyway, especially if your Man City.
I've just bought it today and enjoying it. I'm Liverpool and am struggling with their budget of £2mil. Sold Babel, Deggen & Dossena though to get some cash back. Got Gradel on loan and was worth £200k, now woth £2.2mil.
Mainly the Liverpool team that is now, which is probably why am struggling.
Just started one up as City with the new 10.2 patch, I don't really take this game too seriously until after January, but it's been fun with them so far. Signed Chiellini and Fazio for centre back (easily the best two defenders on it), Anthony Annan in midfield as well as Arda Turan and Eden Hazard for the wings/attacking midfield. Signed Marco Verratti from Pescara for £100k, looks absolutely superb for 16 and I've seen a few screenshots of him a few years ahead, looks immense.
Not really after too many players now, think I'll try and get Domenico Criscito whenever he's interested in moving, whilst I fancy Diego Renan to provide back up on both sides, he's quality, too. Possibly Fabian Delph in midfield if I get Renan, as I think I'll end up selling Zabaleta who is pretty dire.
Current formation is flirting between a 4-2-3-1 and a 4-2-2-2 depending on opposition, not really been able to get the best out of Tevez yet, but Robinho and Turan have both been immense, so has Ireland.
I bought this the other day based on the advice on here. It does indeed run a lot better than 09. I think the improvements this time around are massive. The UI is far better and getting rid, or at least covering up the sliders, is great and far more 'realistic'.
I am starting with Macclesfield, as the lack of expectation should mean I'm given an easier ride. How do people approach the tactical side of things? Create your own (If so based on what?), copy someone elses from the internet, or just use a standard default tactic and try to improve the players?
