I vaguley remember Hicks saying something about Barry and value for money. So I would assume he was the architect of that going belly up, though Parry may have given him the bullets.

Where does the dislikle of Parry come from?

A lot of it comes from the sale of the club, the Athens ticket fiasco, some of his failings behind the scenes and certain things that are only rumours but seem to accentuate the dislike for him.

When Robbie Keane was sold for a loss during the transfer window, people (including myself) made comments eluding to Rafa's business sense in losing £x million in x months.

You insisted it was not Rafa that wanted him in the first place it was Rick Parry. Now you say Rafa thought he would be a good addition to his squad, but it didn't quite work out.......make your mind up Keith :? :? :?

Hope Rafa has been given full control of signings etc, if he brings in the players that HE wants, he will bring us the title. I have doubted him in the past, but there isnt anyone more suited to the job.

So do I. 4 more years of signings of the calibre of Lucas. 8)

Did I?

What do you mean, this? Which wasn't even addressed to you.

Of course, the figures don't lie. But the thing is, taking all the rumours away about it being a Parry signing blah, blah, we have looked better with Gerrard playing behind Torres, which means there's no place for Keane in our best side. He's obviously not happy on the bench, who would be, so maybe it's best all round.

I personally didn't want to see him go, especially without bringing anyone one in, as I think 6 months at a new club is too early to judge anyone. But, we don't see what goes on behind the scenes and there could be more to it than meets the eye.

As you can see, I don't need to make my mind up about anything. I don't even recall talking to you about Parry. My argument with you, IIRC, was about your toys out of the pram over the Portsmouth game.

Most definitely - Rafa's track record in Europe is far superior to Mancini's.

Mancini won league titles at Inter but his Inter teams lacked bottle, in a truly big game they would crumble. Mourinho has rectified that to an extent but IMO Mancini, who is always linked to top jobs, isn't in the top echelon of managers for that reason.

I admit being one of the best teams in Europe is great and Benitez's record is outstanding yes but i'd much rather be one of the main forces within the Premiership.

Something that Mancini did for his league teams was win the title, 3 years in a row. That shows quality within the league. he may not be the best man for the job but you could look for Bernd Schuster, Rijkaard, Slavan Billic etc.

Yes Rafa did make the signing of Torres and Benayoun and Skrtel etc but he now has to realise that he must play his BEST team week in and week out throughout the Premiership season, this is the thing that narks me and alot of other Liverpool fans off.
Rotation does not work look at United and Chelsea over the past 5 years for playing the best team week in and week out.

As long as he continues to tinker and change and make quite frankly appauling signings then i will have reservations about him as Liverpool manager.
