I was laughing at Murray BECAUSE of the way he has ben held up by the British press as the next great white hope. 3 pages in the Guardian yesterday all over the news and radio , live on BBC1 ( a change in TV schedules because he had got to a final , did they cover any of the rest of the competition live).

It makes me laugh how the British press big up British sportsmen when they have won nothing.

"2010 England will win the WC" etc.

Until he wins something he will be just a Jock Tim Henman.

it is no different to those who said Gerry Cooney will be World Boxing Champion.

If he wins a Grand slam i will be pleased for him. Until then , " dont believe the HYPE".

Yes we do hype up our sports men and women but is it a bad thing to give the british public hope? Considering the rest of the world already puts us down when it comes to sporting events.

No, by your definition, reaching a final and then losing is automatically a choke, and only people who win should be given any credit.

You are obviously not very bright. Choking is when you get to thew big game and cannot reproduce anything near your usual form ( unless there is a good reason ie Injury it is usually caused by choking). Murray has never got anywhere near his pre final form in any of his tournaments. He was not OUTPLAYRD he just did not turn up.

Saints vs Giants in CC final we played as well as we had all season we were just beaten by the better team FACT.

Vs Warrington we played at about the level we had been at all season but just did not get the rub of the green. No choking just bad luck.

Ther eis a big difference between bigging up your local team and bigging someone up as a national hero. Although i suspect you live in London so feel that you are the epitome of Britain.

How you compare them is beyond me. You are either a bit thick, dont know the facts or are a closet Scotsman ( I wont call you a closet Tennis fan as i do not want to be too insulting).

You howver keep ignoring the arguements and carry on with the insults. I meanwhile will keep picking your dummy up and handing it back to you.
