Whatever the problems you have with your strikers, I think a bigger feat would be City winning a league title with that gypsy looking bloke at the back.

The truth is, if Chelsea do take the title, the defence will have been the difference - Yes, your strikers are not the best (though to call them donkeys and only worthy of a 7th or 8th place finish is a bit exaggerated), but their deficiencies are nowhere near the level that Demichelis stoops to.

The Premier League have clearly introduced a VR system. For the Matic goal today Foy signaled for the goal and blew his whistle. There was no flag from the lino and the lino was wrong side anyway to make the call. The 4th official was a half a pitch away and also wrong side. Foy changed that call because he was told in his ear to.

For the Ramires red card the lino was unsighted and behind play with an Aston Villa player directly in his line of sight. The lino still signaled for a Villa throw in. Foy immediately blew his whistle and signaled for a Villa throw. The Villa fans cheered. Then two Villa players ran straight at Foy, one of them doing a nice little jump in front of him. A few seconds later Foy was producing a straight red card and awarding a free kick. The 4th official might have been in position to see that incident, but I doubt he'd have been able to advise seeing as he was in the middle of a melee with all the subs and coaches.

I agree. That's not the point.

Foy made two decisions based on what he saw. He signaled and whistled to indicate his decisions. He then changed his decisions. These decisions were clearly not based upon advice from his linos, who were placed even worse than him.

So where have these decisions come from?

IMO he's been given decisions by a video ref system. I actually think that we should operate a VR system where there's a qualified ref able to quickly advise refs about things. The simple fact is that everyone at home is better placed then the refs and linos to make decisions because of numerous camera angles and quick action replays. The VR system would help make better decisions.

But that system hasn't been introduced. If I'm right and a VR was talking in Foy's ear, is this a system that has been introduced but not announced to the public or has Foy taken it upon himself to get assistance that he shouldn't be getting?

There is a possibility that Foy made the decisions himself, then thought about it and changed the decisions. But that is dreadful refereeing practice and I've rarely seen that happen. The correct response would be to think about the decision and then make the correct call. You simply don't make two decisions, signal and whistle to indicate those decisions, then have a quick think about it and completely change the decisions.

I thought both Demichelis and Garcia had easily their best games for City yesterday, although that isn't saying a great deal. Our next three away games are at United, Arsenal and Liverpool which could be decisive.

I don't think anyone can argue with the outcome of the Liverpool v United game, or the two penalties that were given. But the third? Sturridge should be banned for that and Vidic's suspension rescinded. What an utter joke.

Liverpool have a cracking chance at the title now. Very impressive again today, despite the two idiotic moments from Rafael and Jones making it very easy for them.
