I'd like to see Broad do something with the ball today, because I don't think he should be as high in the pecking order as he seems to be.
105 Test wickets at near as dammit 36 apiece and a strike rate of a wicket every 68 balls.
Compare that to:
Ryan Sidebottom - 79 wickets at 28 and strike rate of 60.
James Anderson - 215 wickets at 31, strike rate of 56
Tim Bresnan - 25 wickets at 28, strike rate of 69
Steve Finn - 50 wickets at 27, strike rate of 41
Chris Tremlett - 38 wickets at 26, strike rate of 53
Graham Onions - 28 wickets at 31, strike rate of 51
Statistically, Broad should be well down the England pecking order. Even Saj Mahmood has a marginally better strike rate, although his wickets have come at 38 apiece. He's lucky to be in the side, let alone part of the captaincy group.
