SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS

For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.

For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.

Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row

I must admit I was embarrassed by quite a few Saints fans today and not for the first time away from home. I know who she is without even watching videos as she was a few rows behind us.

We have a great away following in the main, taking big numbers and are loud but we have definitely attracted a yobbish element, lads who can’t take their ale and think they are untouchable. I went with my eldest lad today who’s 13 and my mate and his lad who is only 6.

We both said that that is probably the last time we’ll go on a coach. We normally take it in turns to drive but given the distance today and it was a Saturday afternoon we thought we’d take a coach from a pub. I’ve normally only taken coaches from the club before. After today it’s not for me. I’ll drive next time regardless of distance.

Sorry to hear that Stu.
Saints are a decent club and I would expect them to identify that "lady" and ban her, as should every other RL club. What did surprise me on viewing of the video was that it wasn't just adolescent kids involved, there were a lot of older fans who should have known better.

I remember the "good old days" when fans could stand together have a good bit of banter, shake hands at full time with "See you next time" regardless of how the result has gone. Very rarely was there any trouble.
Then again the licensing laws were much stricter and different.

When we played Penrith a Saints fan was seated behind me a slagged off Wigan at every opportunity and praised Penrith likewise, however we had great banter between us and at one point he said "you are loving this" I replied "yes I am "at full time we shook hands he went on his way with the knowledge that he had seen a great game (he chose this instead of Huddersfield V St Helens) and I went away with the knowledge of Wigan had just become WCC.
Not all Saints fans are di*kheads just some and need to be weeded out and the good ones praised .
When teams that have been at the top they cannot understand why they are not anymore, sad really.

The form team are HKR,playing brilliant RL and Lewis is a fantastic player,I think we will win the CCsemi but it wont be easy.

I had this at the WCC, surrounded by morons behaving like hooligans in front of children, including their own

The bitterness in some people over a game still amazes me

Well that was a long day and coach journey home…

Second half capitulation but wow HKR were good second half too. Mikey Lewis was superb and the pace of their ball movement had us falling off tackles and poor first contact. Very un Saints like.

Strangely enough our attack looked decent at times and Welsby looked more like his old self, scoring once and assisting every other try (from memory)

I still think Wigan will win the CC SF but boy they’ll have a hard game. Two weeks on the trot they’ve smashed Wigan and then Saints. That’s impressive.

In answer to the Dodd question, I think his injury has derailed him. Prior to that he was playing some really good RL but he’s been a shadow of himself since bar the WCC game.

He doesn’t take the line on anymore and his kicking isn’t good enough. Just another part of the rebuild we need when he’s gone.

Do you think Dodd’s problem down to coaching? It will be interesting to see what happens if he teams up with Bennett at South’s.

This sort of behaviour needs eradicating, not just at Saints but all clubs. The lack of a policing presence is an issue however, each club has a duty to identify such morons and issue them with a significant ban (if not a lifetime ban). A family sport is being hijacked by morons.

I know there's a difference with this woman actually throwing bottles but I'm sick of having beer chucked over me especially at away games, just ban taking drinks into the stadium bowl.

Having a banter is one thing but behaving like morons is another,it does surprise me sometimes that fans cannot take defeat or even when they win some just come over as complete idiots chucking beer etc,I dont get it I really dont.

These are the same kinds of people who turn nasty if you disagree with them while chatting in the pub. They're horrendous and I don't know how they get through life. Thankfully they're a minority but all clubs have them (though I think they tend to come out of the woodwork more when a club is doing well).
