I know 2 of the 12 and from what they told me the change was going to happen because IL said it was going to happen. The club was probably looking for “buy in” i.e. a charade. A waste of time and money but a lovely earner for the marketing consultants

If they consulted 12 that’s an absolute insult...sums the club up at the moment...box ticking exercise just to pretend they’ve done it...pick 12 happy clappers and see what they think!!

A chief exec with an owner chairman is a lose lose situation. I don’t rate KR but his authority levels re major decisions are about the same as mine at Wigan RLFC I.e. jack shoite. By the way IF if you’d have spent less time with the “warriors” and kept the Wigan RLFC maybe you’d have seen the shoite in front of your eyes. Are we still having the Ancient and Loyal badge back IL/KR for 2022? You won’t see a cent from me for my kids or grandkids on any merchandise in 2022 “warrior” or RLFC

Any chief executive with half a brain and full of opium would have potted Lam after the Barcelona debacle

The last 3 years sits squarely with IL. Total utter shoite encapsulated in tonight’s “performance”

The squad for next year is worse than this year. I don’t care if Peet can walk down the Leeds and Liverpool canal with a boa on his head and a feather up his arris I won’t be there. I’m done. I’m finished.
It will be Peet. All the shoite about different options is just shoite pretty much like the shoite reverberated at the forum.

It’s not ale talk I’ve had zippo. Due to work commitments I literally ran to the ground tonight to get there on time. Never again until the club is stripped and rebuilt. I used to literally cry when we lost when I was a kid. Tonight I couldn’t give a fishes tit.

Waney we know each other do yourself a favour don’t comeback in any role unless you have total utter control on signings. It’s too late for that so good luck in your dealings with journeymen like Thornley and Miller. KR thinks Miller will be a good signing, that’s how good our management is. The club states how dependent they are on gate receipts and not one new signing has even a dot of stardust. Chief Exec and Chairman, I’ve shoite better before my breakfast.

IL has had a grave dereliction of duty over the last 3 years and it will take someone else to resolve it. He’s done dusted and an ineffectual owner who owns a pup and he’s castrated it.

This is my favourite ever post. Perfectly summed up. We are shoite.

Bet Bill and Ben, the tinpot men are frantically searching through their contact books this morning trying to sign some Wigan reject with a shortage of functioning limbs to try and stymie the further drop in season ticket sales after this season.

The 12 were I believe quite widespread in terms of age etc but frankly a total utter waste of time.
IL I believe showed his frustration with the push back which is unprofessional and probably made the situation worse for the few people who were against the “new warrior”

Maybe so..but we are a club in decline during his tenure.

Would he be in his current role if he had never played rugby league?

Would he be on his current role if he didn’t play for Wigan?

We all know the answer to those questions.

I could not have put it better myself and what has taken place during the last three years or so will remind many older supporters of the position the club was in at the end of the seventies when after a decade of failure, falling crowds, different coaches, poor signings and a terrible financial situation, the then board of directors asked a certain Maurice Lindsay to become Financial Director which led to the club being taken over by him and Jack Hilton, Tom Rathbone and Jack Robinson and a period of stability and success.

Perhaps, the time has come for the same thing to happen again and start afresh with new ownership, management and a more experienced and proven coach as well as the recruitment of better, bigger and more experienced players.

Otherwise, I can only see the club again going deeper into a period of failure, again falling crowds and a even worse financial situation like that of the seventies.

It’s not that simple unless you know someone with odd £20m or so to buy the club and won’t expect the money back in his or her lifetime. That’s why I’m so frustrated and worried what the future holds.

IL in the first 8 years or so of his tenure for me was top class in terms of his management and delivery.
Since then it’s been a torturous decline and we haven’t hit the bottom yet.

Uncle Maurice had great foresight but little or no money. His second stint he almost finished the club off.
I’d love someone with the “front” of Maurice with millions in the bank but that would fantasyland or an impossibility.

Rathbone had little say in the running of the club and Robinson made some poor decisions during his chairmanship so it wasn’t all roses even when we were successful. We lucky to have secured 3 great coaches in 10 years of almost unbroken success enabled by professional dedicated rugby players.

Biggest shame for me is these last few years (and pos the next) will tarnish the Leneghan legacy...possibly the best owner and administrator we’ve ever had until the last few years, but people are only going to remember this sh1tshow and decisions to appoint peet etc that make it worse.

The off season is huge for us and a huge indication of the clubs ambition...we’re either heading for the early 80s again as some have said, or he can do something to turn it around!

In the fans forum, he said we are spent up for next year? How in the actual flip are we spent up with the players we have lost and the players we are gaining? Serious mismanagement of the cap and like others have said there ia no stardust in any of the signings.

IL said we had £75K left and then KR corrected him and said we also had an amount put to one side for a halfback. People assume that's £150k. So £225k left. We've then obviously got a bit of wriggle room regrading marquee signings.

The decision on Peet could make things worse but they could make things a damn site better. It’s not you in particular but many people seem to be writing off Peet as a basket case before he’s even started. It’s only fair IMO that we give him a fair shot. It isn’t a given he’ll crash and burn at all, it isn’t a given he’ll just continue to plod away with our current style of concentrating on nilling teams and playing the most boring brand of rugby I’ve ever seen a team play etc. He could be sat there as frustrated as everyone else with how things have been going and be bursting with ideas of how he can change things. We better hope he is anyway.
