I hope that you are successful. Personally I feel that they should be inviting people like yourself and other "influencers" from say Twitter and most definitely Phil Wilkinson. If they get this forum "wrong" they will be causing more damage than actually re-assuring dejected fans.

I believe that questions have to be submitted in advance which to a degree I can understand to avoid the "how many shredded wheat can Tony Clubb eat for his breakfast" type questions but it can also lead to questions being "selected" to potentially avoid any "difficult" questions.

I'd be asking why are they holding the forum next week (i.e. timing significance if any) and what are the objectives of holding the forum.
At the end of forum they can then ask attendees if the objectives have been achieved.

I am disappointed in the extreme that the forum will not be shown on Wigan Tv

Something like this gets asked every time they run one. The response is always along these lines - mutually beneficial for both clubs to work together. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wigantoday.net/sport/football/ian-lenagan-on-wigan-athletic-involvement-hopes-and-plans-for-future-3160135%3famp
I get that you might not like those answers but there's no point asking a question IL has already made a recent statement about, he will just repeat the same thing and burn valuable time.

Thanks, but these are general statements. My questions were specifically why GW was allowed to sign for Warrington for free and whether the owner of the DW can arbitarily up the rent.

I keep hearing how short of cash we are etc, but when an opportunity to get some compo from Warrington came about, we appear to have rolled over and let them tickle our bellies.

Tickets sorted

Influencers!!!!
Ha ha

At the last one beginning of 2020 I didn't ask a question in the forum, but to be honest the amount of absolutely shocking questions he was getting was unbearable.
People just giving isolated Instances of their experience buying a ticket, or getting a car park pass. And ill be honest, 80% of their statements were false (one guy complaining that his daughter who was 17 or 18 having to pay full price or 240 or summat for a season ticket in East stand, absolute bollox as my Lds were 21 and 17 at the time and they got season tickets for about 140 and 110 for example).
People just complaining

What i did do though (along with 2 others who I went with) was speak to him on a one to one basis whilst the video presentation was being presented to the audience (we couldn't be arsed sitting down so we stood at the back of the room where the video equipment was and IL went to the back of the room while it was on).

We had 5minutes chatting, and i/we said a few things, and then when it concluded his sister came over and we chatted to her for 5minutes and IL came over again.

Very interesting 10mins or so.
Dont agree with everything he said, and in light of the current situation he may reflect differently on a few things, but, and thisis what i think most people don't do, I would with hindsight admit I would look at things differently. I'm not in public going to go into some of the things I said or his replies.

But let's be honest, with Covid and the Latics=stadium situation the last 18months have been rather difficult

I'll say it again, last 3 seasons ask supporters their expectations of league position and most would have said top 3 on each of last 3years, most would have expected us to win something.
That says to me recruitment and squad isn't as bad as it is currently performing (and imo has been for 3 years)
I accept there are some glaring ones (the Tony club 2yr extension, mitch Clarke as of your not going to play him why sign him etc) but overall Lam has the tools.
I think the catalyst to all of this is the Edwards debacle, because without that we wouldnt have Lam (and I do have a bit of sympathy with Lam in that this isn't what he expected).
But
It was ILs job to get the Edwards thing over the line, he didn't
It was ILs decision to stick with Lam

And I think he got both wrong

I have no idea how you get selected for questions, if anyone does let me know

I did say "influencers"!!

The last 3 years for me seem to have been "wasted". I know COVID has had never seen before repercussions but we just seem to be drifting with seemingly no direction from the top. I've got genuine sympathy for IL & KR in that pressures and strains on the business must be almost unbearable at times however, they are the guys at the helm and they either steer us into calmer waters (easier said than done), they step aside or bring in new blood to help regenerate the club (again maybe easier said than done).

Like yourself I wasn't convinced about Lam from very early on however, to be fair to the guy if someone continues to pay you a decent wedge why would he "walk away" from a role where he is obviously struggling. For me IL should have acted at the end of his first season.

I have major worries about the stability of the club with the new owners of the stadium being at the top of the list. I would even put up Lam for another year if it meant the potential massive increase in rent being speculated was eliminated.

I was very upbeat when the forum was announced however, as I've stated on a previous post if they are not careful they will make the situation worse.
In hindsight maybe I'd rather IL and KR be interviewed by Phil Wilkinson with "no subject off the table" to try ensure that fans get a totally transparent view on what is actually happening and what plans are in place. Hopefully the forum will be followed up by such an interview to be shown on Wigan TV.
I find the omission of Wigan TV as being an integral part of the forum totally baffling.

I think it would be a huge gamble to put it live on Wigan TV. The chances of a handful of idiots being in the audience is quite high.

I would hope that it can be shown there after the event with anything particularly nasty or unsuitable edited out.

Kind of see your point but there’s idiots everywhere. You’d like to think they’d be a rarity at a fans forum. I still think it should be on Wigan TV but happy for highlights or a re run after the fact

My eldest said that there were few tickets left this afternoon.
Is the apathy at such levels that people can’t even be arsed to verbally raise their concerns?
