Perhaps Lenagan is not in any position to sack Lam because of the financial situation of the club and how many believe that with the present squad which has been put together by him and Radlinski, things would be any different under any better Coach including Maguire and Wane.

If you want a better, more experienced and expensive Coach than Lam, you have to back him with a better, bigger and more experience squad than what we have at the present time.

Granted, we have some good top class players in Bateman, Farrell, French, Gildart, Hardacre, Hastings and some good young prospects in Pierce-Paul and Smith, but the general standard of the rest of the squad compared with squads of the past and some other clubs leaves a lot to be desired for a top club like Wigan.

Re: Lam : Sat Aug 21, 2021 9:39 am
I’ve seen squads in superleague with 5% of the talent this Wigan side has at least be able to manage to score points. Yes the squad needs some attention but my god, Lam really has to be the worst coach we’ve had in my time watching us. Just shambolic really and he’s not got a defence. There’s a way to lose games and this isn’t it.

He should be gone before Wednesday but I really doubt he will be and I’d imagine he’ll oversee this shambles until the seasons end.

On a side note the game really should hang it’s head that this Wigan team is in 4th place. That is embarrassing for the sport, as the standard we’ve produced this year should really see us down near the foot of the table.

Perhaps supporters should be blaming the Ventriloquist and not the Puppet for the shambles!

Didn’t realise Lenaghan coaches the side, picks the team and signs all the players. Honestly you’re an embarrassment.

He just needs to go now, its absolutely dire watching them week in, week out, knowing full well that nothings changing. Like someone else mentioned i just can't see him going before the end of the season. Sounds so petty but I'm just bored of everything about lam now, team selection, comments before and after games, that stupid astonished face he pulls everytime the camera cuts to him (very petty i know).
I wouldn't mind so much if there was some kind of statement from the club letting us all know whats going on but not gonna hold my breath for that one.
It looks a lot like he lost the dressing room months ago, if he ever had it in the first place, but what do we know, were only paying fans who give our hard earned money and time to the club.

Can't afford to sack him? We have 5-8 games left of the season. Less than two months wages and his contract is expired anyway. Pay him off Monday morning and get rid. The cost of lost ticket sales for Wednesday's game (even at 1995 prices) would be more than his wages.

I managed to grab a £10 ticket for last night's game and still felt ripped off. At this moment in time I'm struggling to get myself motivated to get one for Wednesday even if they were being handed out for free. However if Lam went Monday I'd be on it straight away, I'm sure there's plenty others feeling the same.

“We were clunky but that’s to be expected with so many changes again”

He actually said that, I mean he literally has the nerve to come out with that pure and utter BS every single week. Clunky isn’t scoring two points and not getting in the opposition ten all night, clunky is what Saints are in attack every week. Our show was a sh*t show again. One where the players look totally and utterly lost and devoid of any sort of idea of what the hell they’re trying to achieve.

It has to be the most embarrassing and plain annoying season as a Wigan fan this. There were mitigating factors for 2005 and 2006 and certainly the second half of 2006 was probably as enjoyable a time I can remember as a Wigan fan. This season is just a horror show and Lam takes the vast majority of the blame. It’s a shame that such a great Wigan player will leave now with people chuffed to bits to see the back of him.

Pay him up and I’ll coach them for free

Can imagine IL and Rads at the end of the season.

"We need to release an End of Season Review DVD".

"But we didn't win anything so sales will be poor".

"OK, how about 100 great tries from the season".

"But we didn't score 100 tries".

"Goalkicks"?

"Even worse".

"Oh sod it, just throw any old $hit together, Riversiders lot will buy it".
