Last night I watched the Hull v Saints game. I was impressed by the Saints tactics in both defence and attack. Whenever Hull were on the last tackle and passed the ball back for the kick the kicker was attacked by 5 or 6 Saints defenders. In defence their line speed was super fast. And in attack they were very aggressive on every play and almost always ran the ball in at speed. None of this is clever stuff. You don’t have to be a marquee player to do it. You just need a good coach who understands how to win the energy battle and can teach his players the importance of enthusiasm in everything they do. Those tactics lay a platform for the stars at the back and on the edges to win the game for you. With our youngsters we could be doing that too. But we don’t.

Amazing how well they bounced back from Covid. Full of energy and looking fresh.

That's pretty much what Wane brought (at the end of each season anyway). It's just attitude and standards and getting players go buy into it.

I've said it before, in many regards I'm not a massive Isa fan, but the above is exactly what he brings to the side. Having him out in the backs (where he's performed better than was to be expected) has meant we've lost that intensity in the pack. He's a real defensive champion of the side and the sooner we can get him back into the pack and leading that, the better.
