Do we have an attack coach at the minute? I mean without doubt Lam should take the majority of the stick for the diabolical attack we’re putting on, especially given all his talk about what we could expect but if there is a lead attack coach, he should be let go yesterday.

Isn’t Winder the attack coach?

Not sure how much coaching Lam actually carries out which could lead to question why promote Peet if he is a major part of the current coaching? From what I hear Lam does not follow Waney’s footsteps in that he ain’t a first in last home type of guy.
This is why I cannot understand IL in that why retain a head coach who adds very little if anything?

Probably just out of desperation last year, and the fact that we finished top of the league.

The problem with IL's philosophy of giving coaches 1 year for every trophy they win, is that you can't just go and recruit a new coach in November after you don't win SL.

Never understood that philosophy and never will. We’re in a results and performance based industry. If neither of them are landing it’s time to change. I’m not one for chop and change unnecessarily - there were times during Wane and Mags’ reign that both dipped and a change then would have been silly. But when it comes to Lam and the clear absent of clarity in rugby style/knowing what the F we’re doing in most of our games win or lose, it’s baffling how he didn’t go during that dismal losing streak.

just because someone was a skilful attacking player in their day (as Briers undoubtedly was, even if many in Wigan hate him), doesn't mean they'd made a great attacking coach.

We've already seen that with a certain A. Lam.

I think most of the die hards will give Peet a fair chance but there’s a bigger issue. The die hards will come and watch the game no matter what. Some would buy tickets to watch the players pegging out washing if they were sold! However, I think the club needs to act to attract those fans that have drifted away over the last few years and appointing Matty Peet won’t do that. A coach with no previous ties, with new ideas etc might do so. Unless Peet starts like a house on fire, crowds are likely to stay low and I believe, particularly after recent times that we need to invest to flourish again. Peet might have served a long apprenticeship but I’m not sure the timing is right for him.

Rumour but one I’ve heard from several reliable sources. The guy on the other site has probably said we’re appointing a human and will claim he’s right when whatever’s happening is announced

He’s heard Isa has signed his new deal now and he’s also heard we’re not as confident on Flanagan as we were (it was us thinking about an enquiry last week, so we’re did the confidence of a deal and than lack of confidence come from? ).

It’s as though there were stories in the press in the last few days saying Isa has signed a new deal and Trent Barrett denying Flanagan would be leaving.
