to be fair you were playing a mainly academy huddersfield side, you should be winning them games with the players you had

Hudds squad numbers added up approx 336
Wigans squad numbers added up 320plus ish

Bear in mind 69 of hudds number is based on your 2 recent signings who are full 1st teamers in Peats and Peteru

Yeah course your 100% right

Hanley Halsall Smith KP Paul Havard Shorrocks O'niel
Bourough all under 21. Partington just praised our young lads he's just turned 22. In a full strength Wigan team Im thinking from tonight's team Marshall Gildart Tommy Singlton Faz Partington and Havard get in. So six or seven first picks guessing your teams not far off that. I would argue we have more quality missing.
French Zak Hastings Bateman would walk into most teams. Maybe Seazer from you of a similar stature. Tonight's game was pretty much two broken teams. I thought if you had played the whole game like the last 20 then you may have looked like winning your two tries apart I can't think of much threat? We wasn't much better but looked in controle for all but 10 minutes after both your scores.
Goulding Mgilvrey Wardle Yates Jones McQueen Peates Petru I'm imagining would be in yours?

With the present situation of injuries and suspensions to some of the more senior players which has also resulted in the recall of two young players in the last couple of days from loan spells, the abuse of Tony Clubb is a disgrace, especially when he is making himself available in the present difficult situation of a shortage of players.

Tonight, Wigan fielded a team of mainly young players, twelve of which had graduated from the club's Academy and the result was a credit to them, Clubb as well!

I may have been critical of some of the clubs signings, but I know when to give credit when is credit due!

Evidently, the same moaning minority don't!

Re: Huddersfield Away : Fri Jul 16, 2021 11:53 pm
I’m not giving them an easy ride on a third team meaning only 26 are missing, I want the subs as well! Anything less than 34 players won’t do.

I think we can be pretty chuffed with that win tonight. Hanley and Halsall stood up, Harry Smith managed the game well at the end, the young forwards did a good job and I was especially pleased with the two young hookers sharing that spot and making an impact.

We could be dead now had we lost these two Huddersfield games but we’ve edged through them and you never know where you can end up. It’s a long shot to think we could achieve something but it’s better to be alive and have blind hope, than it is to be dead and buried.
