IMO they have a time and a place.
It wasn't so much the short drop out, but the fact we went for it with 20 pts down and 4 mins left!! If there had been 4-8 pts in it I might have understood....but it was pointless. At that point it should have been damage limitation rather than desperately chasing the ball!!
Worst still, after conceding the try we still went short at the kick off
and nearly conceded another try but for the ref pulling it up.....As they say, once is a mistake, twice is stupidity.....Hadn't learned from taking unnecessary and pointless risks only two mins earlier.
That passage of play summed up the game for me.....We beat ourselves more than wire beating us!
