I’d take them both to be honest.

I don’t think Smith and Sezer works, too similar.

I don’t think Smith is of the ability to be a trophy winning half yet or near to it.

I think Sezer and Austin would make a very good pairing.

Realistically though we will sign neither.

I really hope we don’t sign Austen. As much as he’d probably improve us I can’t stand him or his antics.

I'm hoping that we sign one top half rather than going with Field and Smith or Leuluai (again) and Smith. No chance we are signing two halfback unless one is an absolute wildcard (e.g Championship or NRL reserve grade).

We must sign 1, I hope for 2. In reality we also need 2 props a centre and potentially a back up 9 which under cap I can’t see happening.

I’ve been wrong before and I will be wrong again and I hope I’m wrong on this but I don’t see Smith as a player capable of taking a team to titles.

Sezer was very good last night in the All Stara game but Leeming was the player I thought would improve us most. He just offers something sharp we’ve not had at hooker for a very long time. Sezer, Leeming, two props and a centre please!! Not gonna happen though.

Why a backup 9? We have Powell who is one of our better players, and O'Neill getting great reviews on loan in the Championship. I think with 8 interchanges it's going back to being an 80 minute spot anyway.

It’s a difficult one with Powell. We all know his work rate and his commitment can never be questioned but I just wish we could get something from him when we have possession. He’s so predictable with his pretend to go one way then go the other distribution, he rarely scoots and gains ground, he isn’t a good kicker etc.

I know some fans absolutely love him and some just can’t see why. I’d love to see a hooker with the ability to mix their game a bit and inject some speed around the ruck.

The way our recruitment is going I wouldn’t be surprised if we didn’t sign one.

I like Powell but he’s well off his best this season. Even his defence is off, with him grabbing at people and falling off tackles, which seems really unusual. In attack he was great last year but it’s got a bit predictable. In his defence though his work close to the opposition line is a really strong part of his game but if you don’t have powerful forwards punching holes in the middle, you’re left with very little space to work with. If he was playing on the back of a Walmsley or a Satae, he’d have a field day. He even managed to have a field day on the back of the likes of Clubb last season.
