If Lam was assistant to Robinson at Wigan he'd be in his element. We'd be winning trophies though!

And I think you are absolutely right. We played the conditions very well on the whole. I'm just really happy with our attitude at the minute. Especially in defence. I don't think a Radford team would have had the patience to wear you down the way we did today. I'm not used to seeing a Hull team that can defend like that.

I think stains will be in for a shock when you play them. You guys get a few bodies back and you’ll be difficult to beat.

Saints look about as lost as us going forward at the minute but have a couple of big props to help them out. If Hull go in as strong as fussy but with Connor and Bowden back in, they’ll have every chance (I don’t think Taylor will make it).

Didn’t even bother watching today. Really felt it would go this way and my football club had a shot at promotion on the last day so opted for that.

Can’t say I’m surprised at all. Why would I be? That’s Wigan under Lam. Not good enough.

Bring back Wane. Whilst Lam is here I’m just not that interested.

You’ve been building well for a few years now and Hodgson looks like the coach to take you forward towards the next level. Whether you can make that step I don’t know but the youth brought through coupled with some shrewd signings make Hull a team to be very wary of IMO.

As an outsider couple of observations. You are a far more dangerous team with French at FB. Hardaker is very sollid, but I didn't realise his much pace he's lost, which is odd as he's only 28....
Hastings is too slow and bit Overrated for me. Smith is already the better player, and will be amazing with Williams next to him.
Don't think your pack is that bad, I actually think your backs lacked some spark. Is Manfredi likely to be the dynamic winger he was? I know the poor lad has terrible run with injuries. Was pleased to see him score though.....

The league is pants at the minute and has been for 4 or 5 years now, so decent teams like Hull have always been a good coaching appointment away from challenging. Saints turned themselves round with a good coaching appointment and Hull could be on the track to doing the same. We didn’t make a good appointment and have been treading water since.

A good summery that.

I’m chuffed for Hull but so disappointed with our appointment and the imbalance in the squad.
Hopefully Hull can kick on and ideally Huddersfield or Catalan too can step up on a consistent basis to give the league a more competitive edge to improve the overall standard of the competition

For the first time in a while we have a core of quality young players who aren't just making up the numbers but are making key contributions to the team. Lane has been excellent this year, as has Cator. Brad Fash has improved massively. McNamara is developing nicely. Cam Scott, Connor Wynne, Jack Brown. 20/21 years old and all can be relied on to come in and do a really solid job. We've always had the star players but the squad players have often just not looked up to scratch. That feels different this year. Its exciting times to be a Hull fan just now.

The lack of size and go forward in your pack really showed today imo. Last week you were able to have success by putting some width on the ball. Today wasn't the conditions for that and Hull knew that they had the measure of you in an arm wrestle. It was a very simple and patient gameplan from us and the final score probably doesn't quite tell the whole story of our dominance. It wasn't even a particularly big Hull pack either. Hodgson put all of his big men on at the start, but even amongst those only Satae is the real man mountain. The pack was as small as it gets with Brown, Cator, Johnstone and Wynne.

In good conditions when you can put some air on the ball you are a very good side indeed. But in the wet when you have to roll your sleeves up you just don't have the players imo, and that's something Lam needs to address.

Granted you made a number of unforced and uncharacteristic errors which didn't help your cause, but even without a couple of helping hands I always thought we had the measure of you.

Hull were head and shoulders above Wigan today and I agree, the score line flattered us. However, the biggest difference, in my view, was your line speed when defending, you smothered us to death whereas we allowed easy gains. Good luck in the semi-final.
