Maybe, but look at guys like Bullock a former winger, who didn't make waves during his first stint at the club, or Mullhearn at Wire. Both dropped to the championship and now play for top SL sides.

Give it 12/24 months and he'd still be 22/23. That's when guys his age come out of uni anyway. The prospects provided by a FT career in RL is huge imo.

I wouldn’t disagree with you in normal times but it does concern me the lack of money in the game. It has to bite at some point and the player pool will reduce even further. If he doesn’t fancy the challenge then long term all sides are better off but we don’t know the details.

Let’s not kid ourselves here. It’s not a crisis , far from it. But 5 chances at a trophy and 5 bottle jobs. SL as our last hope? Not likely IMO. That means we should be looking at a change in Head Coach and if we are looking to do that it ought to be done well before October. Even if it’s just announced Lam is to leave at the end of the season. He isn’t the coach for us and I’ve maintained that for a while now and still do. He was only ever meant to be ‘interim’ Head Coach, I think we’re seeing why.

I agree, but tbf I also think he's a great coach.

If he was back in the NRL, at the roosters under Robinson he'd be in his element imo.

Get that Wane bloke back in, he seemed to know what he was doing. Lenagan should be at his door begging him to come back IMO.

The only improvement in coaching during Lam’s tenure has been the appointment of Peet.
He’s out of his depth and gets found out when it really matters

I see nothing in Lam that remotely suggests he can coach at any level

Re: Hull FC Cup Game : Sat May 08, 2021 6:08 pm
The lack of size and go forward in your pack really showed today imo. Last week you were able to have success by putting some width on the ball. Today wasn't the conditions for that and Hull knew that they had the measure of you in an arm wrestle. It was a very simple and patient gameplan from us and the final score probably doesn't quite tell the whole story of our dominance. It wasn't even a particularly big Hull pack either. Hodgson put all of his big men on at the start, but even amongst those only Satae is the real man mountain. The pack was as small as it gets with Brown, Cator, Johnstone and Wynne.

In good conditions when you can put some air on the ball you are a very good side indeed. But in the wet when you have to roll your sleeves up you just don't have the players imo, and that's something Lam needs to address.

Granted you made a number of unforced and uncharacteristic errors which didn't help your cause, but even without a couple of helping hands I always thought we had the measure of you.

I think there's a difference between being a head coach and a coach in the traditional sense of the word.

Powell is the obvious example of a player that he's improved. I actually think Isa and Faz have got better under him too.
