Almost all of you but one are looking through Cherry specs, if Luke you said GW was so hell bent of being a Wigan player, and playing for his town, he wouldn’t have left Wigan in the first place.
In contrast, Sam Tomkins rejected the team he loved to play for Wigan a second time. I’m pretty sure he now considers that was a big mistake.

Yep, bet he wishes he'd gone straight to Catalan

But you have to surely see that they are part of one recruitment plan, that needs to be judged as a whole. I'd happily take Thornley and Miski if that means we sign Williams and a good prop. They are all linked imo - one leads to the other i.e money saved on one, let's us get the other.

You want to say that "outside of GW" we're signing dross. That "dross" let's us sign Williams.

That maybe so but re-signing our own rejects in Thornley and the rumour of Gelling aren’t going to win us trophies consistently. I accept we need players on a lower wage to accommodate players such as GW but there should already be plenty on the pot to accommodate better centres than Thornley alongside GW.

Thornley is a different player to the one who left. He’s bigger and looks faster and stronger. It’s almost as if he had a lightbulb moment and realised he needed to fulfill the potential he had. He’s definitely a much better centre than the one who left us and I’m actually quite happy with him coming in. I’ll definitely be giving him a fair crack to prove himself before writing him off, which some people seem to have done before he’s even pulled the shirt on.

Each to their own but I just don’t think he’s good enough for a top level SL club. I’m happy to rescind my comments though if I’m proved wrong and if he does sign for us I hope I am proved wrong.

If I were GW there would certainly be a pull to return to Wigan. Being a local lad, playing for St Pats then through the Wigan youth system, presumably he was also a fan as a kid.

That said, if Warrington offered me significantly more money as much as I’d prefer Wigan I’d go there. It’s a short career and money talks.

There’s also an argument that he has also achieved pretty much all he can with Wigan barring the CC and Warrington would present a sporting challenge too.

There's challenges and there's challenges now Warrington and challenges don't really go together

It wouldn't be the end of the world if he didn't come back. We have bigger issues to sort first like our front row.

This ^^
If we don't sort our front row out he's just going to be a luxury item that gets beaten up every week
