Take a bow, Havard, Partington, Shorrocks and Smith, outstanding performances both individually and collectively against a big physical side.

Couldn’t agree more.

Outstanding.

Great to see.

Agreed.

I've criticised our pack these last few years but were superb last week and this week.

I hope Havard stays well into his 20s. For all the bluster about Smithies, he’s got the potential to be an international for years.

Absolutely buzzing with Partington and Havard especially. To start a cup quarter final against a good side and be as dominant as that at 19 and 21 is just incredible. We’ve longed for quality props for a long time and we look to have found them. I’m more pleased for Partington. I rate Havard so highly and expect him to be dominant now because even at 19 he’s a thoroughbred athlete and a big body but Partington was just brilliant. He is a nasty son of a b to play against and when he plays like that it’s brilliant to watch. We then had Shorrocks come on and he looks like he’s been in the first team for ten years.

Fantastic stuff.

Havard is a machine, he just keeps going and going and he’s getting better and better.

I’ve watched a fair bit of the NRL since lockdown and paid close attention to some of the young forwards over there who get bummed up and the main one I see who Havard reminds me of is Payne Haas. It’s been a horror run for Brisbane but the kid is a good player but honestly I wouldn’t trade. I think Havard is every bit as talented. He’s going to be an international at the earliest opportunity I think. Over the years I’ve watched young props come through who make you sit up and know they’re going to go to the very top. I’m talking the likes of Morley, Fielden, Peacock, Graham etc and I’ve never had that feeling about any young Wigan prop until now. Sometimes you say things and feel like you’re getting ahead of yourself but with this lad I don’t feel I am. I genuinely feel this kid is a once in a decade sort of prop forward and we should probably enjoy him whilst we can.

Fully agree. they don't play like 'kids'; they play like experienced pros, Havard especially. And another strong game from Shorrocks, who seems to really put himself about. Another good all-round team performance. And also, pleasing to see discipline seemed to improve; it didn't seem like we gave away too many penalties, although i didn't check the stats.

Speaking of Brisbane, NK, the guy who has impressed me is their loose-forward Carrighan (sp?). The guy is a total machine, and puts in a hell of a shift week in, week out, in a poor side. He looks like he's be a great buy for any club. I don't remember him prior to this season.
