The point I was trying to make was that I’d rather be be more of an Alex Walmsley or Liam Watts than a James Graham or Adam Cuthbertson. We need forwards who can make meters as well rather than just linking up with halves or finding the floor. It’s no surprise that all of our recent losses came whilst no props made over 100m (Cas away this season an exception with Havard over 100m).
It would be great to finally have a Wigan prop making meters after contact, running onto a ball at pace, stepping at the line and making breaks rather than just hitting their knees and passing left or right.
I agree. I much prefer the Thompson/Watts/Walmsley type prop as opposed to the Graham/Cuthbertson type. I much prefer the aggressive tough running metre making props than the pass the ball at the line/hit the line and PTB type. There’s a time and place for those things and the ideal prop is one that can do all that effectively which I think (hope) Havard can do.
