Am I missing something?
Whilst discussing various emails regarding who was listening to the cricket on TMS (That's Test Match Special, apologies for those who aren't aware of the national institution most commonly referred to as TMS) Jim Maxwell the Australina cricket commentator received an email from "Joe Bloggs of Wigan" saying he was watching the test match from his one bedroom flat overlooking the Tripe Factory in Wigan.
Geoff Boycott (Referred to as Boycott in the title of the thread, Apologies as i can now see how Boycott on TMS could mean that I wanted people to Boycott TMS which, for clarity, I certainly do not want) said "What a Wonderful Rugby League Team"!
Jim Maxwell then asked are they your team, Geoff Boycott replied "Yes".
He then asked are they doing Well in the Championship to Which Geoff Boycott repled " yeah not bad, They made the Grand Final last year against St Helens and I Was there".
Now in Yorkshire speak to get the essence of what Geoffrey Boycott said next I will try & Type Yorkshire (In the accent, not the word Yorkshire for clarity).
"They would ov won it n all if that stupid bloody bugger hadnt ov punched him int 2nd minute, got himself sent off, Id av sacked im there n then!".
Jim Maxwell asked him who is favourite player was and he replied "Billy B!".
Jim Maxwell then said he remembered him and Eric Ashton playing for GB in Australia back in the day (I presume maybe the 62 tour?) and what great players they were.
Boycott then mentioned how we had lost one of the great players in Derek Turner a couple of days ago.
Showed great knowledge in the short while they were talking about RL.
Hope that explains things a bit better?
