The players with issues we bought in were talented (or expected to be), the players with issues we got rid of weren't talented (at the time we got rid). That is the real differentiating factor sadly. I don't specifically blame Wigan for that though, all SL clubs will be willing to overlook lots of off field issues for a top player.

I’d ease him in from the bench and build his minutes up but Lammy goes against the grain on plenty of things. He’ll probably play him for 80 minutes at hooker and out Sam Powell at six.

If Field gets back up to full fitness and form anytime this season we’ll be lucky. It’s just nice to have an extra option anyway.

I'd like to think that Tommy is out and that's forced his hand with Field. It's probably not that way tho as, like you say, Lam loves a good flogging.

I wonder if he'll play him at FB or HB too.
