With Worcester RU going under does anyone who follows the sport know if they've any possible convert material in their squad ?
Feels a bit like picking over a corpse but they'll all be looking for jobs.

I think the appeal of cross-code converts has cooled right off after the recent high profile flops.

It’s worth casting an eye over for sure. I think it would be young, hungry players you’d be looking at, who you could work on over a decent period of time and who wouldn’t cost the earth. I guess Worcester don’t have many high profile players anyway (not a club to be fair) but I’d agree we’re not in a spot to throw money at bigger names. We firstly need to sort out another rugby league centre.

All the good ones have gone really. Hassell-Collins or Duhan van der Merwe would be great in RL, but they've been snapped up.

Agree that van der Merwe would have been an interesting one, big winger with plenty of pace. Assuming the cap dispensation on converts is still a thing I wouldn't be averse to Saints taking a punt on someone from the other code.

Cas have announced the Widdop deal that everyone knew about in the summer so there is hope on the Wardle deal yet though i am feeling about 50% less confident

There are plenty of deals which have been confirmed months ago which are yet to be announced.

Also in Wardle’s case it isn’t up to us to announce as he is a contracted player to another club so they will dictate any announcement.

For what it’s worth still not heard anything contrary to what I was told months ago that he had signed for us.

Wonder if Hudds are working on a big signing and are waiting to announce Wardle to negate it a bit like we do. Leeds have a good bit of business if they have indeed snapped up Nene McDonald. He looks a handful.

I wonder where McDonakd will play for them.

They look to be doing all they can to keep Hardaker and have lost a few wingmen so I’m guessing Newman and Hardaker will be starting centres with McDonald on the wing.

He will be a handful going forward if he does play on the wing but I think teams will target him in defence. He’s a big unit but lacks a bit of mobility.

I thought Hudds may have pushed the button on the Wardle announcement when they signed Marsters and Bibby.

I’m aware of a number of deals though (not involving Wigan) that have been finalised for months and still hand yet to be announced like McDonald to Leeds, Leutelle to Leigh, Taylor to Wakefield etc so we are not the only ones waiting for an official announcement.
