Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.

There is almost the equiv of a new front row in the players we have! Feka, piggy, fielden & Coley all can do much better.

At least one person isn't all doom and gloom

It will be like a new front row if we do what I said, add to that Ben Davies,O'Carroll and Mossop competing for the prop role I reckon the new coach will drop players untill they shape up.

After a tough pre-season doing what I stated I would give Fielden, Feka and Coley their chance and based on their performances would coach/drop them accordingly which is something Noble failed to do in all the time he was here.

When you look at other teams and how their players have progressed and look at us I don't see much of an improvement exept in Phelps due to Radlinski tutoring him.

I can't wait for next season lets hope McGuire gets them all firing on all cylinders ala Nathan Brown.

Well its been said on here McGuire has had a bit of experience at all areas of coaching like conditioning aswell. Hopefully that on its own with mean that he can get us through a quality pre season and start the season from the first game. That on its own would leave less work to do later on instead of playing catch up

If we HAVE managed to do what a good number of NRL clubs have tried over the last 18 months..then the club should be applauded

When you have a legend like Bennett and top coaches like Bellamy saying your the next big coach..You must have something about him.

really hope we have pulled this off

I've spoke to ex-NRL players about pre season training over there and they say its sickeningly hard fitness wise as opposed to over here which is a bit of a pi55 up and training abroad.

Palea'aesina, I really like him as do the fans as he knows how much it means to play for Wigan and he gives it everything he's got every time but he needs to get fitter and lose about 1 or 2 stone as does Riddell. If Palea'aesina got fit we would have our very own Moimoi as they are he same style of player. Please get fit Feka!

If that insinuation is true that Wigan were announcing their new coach via a press conference in the lead up to the Grand final, had we made it, then I am even less convinced about Mr Lenegan than I was before.

Which I would imagine is pretty difficult given some of your previous posts.

Do you honestly believe Wigan would be so stupid as to announce the sacking of a coach the week before a Grand Final in which they were due to appear?

You've truly got to be the simplest kind of headcase to believe that.

Nobby knew he was going weeks, if not months, ago - but Wigan sat on it to prevent the resulting three-ring circus interfering with, firstly the CC semi-final, and secondly, the play-offs.

Yeah, so they then go and announce it three days before the club's first appearance in a Grand Final for about five years.

Sorry to namecall, but some people deserve it - you utter prat.

I wish people would stop calling this a sacking, his contract has run out and we are not offering him a new one.

Well what do you think?

Everyone in Wigan knew he was going several weeks ago.
