I work with a load of saints fans at work and they always go on about wellens the best full back ever. I ve always said he`s no were near as good as rads was.What do you think??? ps please be honest

This will be viewed as being biased, as I am a Wigan fan, but (and I think you can already see where I'm headed here)........

Radders for me, any day of the week (and twice on a Sunday)

Even a quite badly injured Radders was good enough to win MoM at Murrayfield against his lesser counterpart.

Says it all really

Wellens isn't as good as either Radlinski, Hampson or Fairbairn, who are the most recent in our list of great full-backs.

He's got nothing like Radlinski's agility or attacking prowess. He's pretty safe under the high ball, but, compared to Hampo, who was the fielder par excellence, he again lacks agility. He's closest to Fairbairn, in that both of them were at the best as one-on-one defenders. But he lacks Fairbairn's tigerish spirit, and again is nowhere near as quick on the counter-attack.

To be honest, I wouldn't put Wellens up there in the top 10 full-backs. I've seen several others - and British ones too, not just Aussies or Kiwis - who were better.

Check out the Stains board, after 3 games in they are betting on him for man of steel ????
There was a thread on this a while ago and all the Stains fans said Wello and all the Wigan fans Rads.
To be expected i suppose.

saints fans will say wellens and wigan fans will say radlinski

point is when radlinski was playing, wellens could hardly get a look in for GB

both great players in their position but that says it all

Neil Turley is better than Wellens; most over-rated player in years who would only be considered average if he played for anyone else.
