I am a born and bred pie-eater and have been following Wigan since 1965.
My old mum, who is 75, made an 80 mile round trip last night to watch the game. She wasn't impressed.
I do not know anyone who works at the club these days, so what I say is purely speculation.
However, to an outsider there seems to be an air of complacency about the club.
From the coach with no plan B
From the load of second rate antipodean alleged boozers recruited for the team.
From the apparent lack of marketing skills, i.e. team shirts not available at the start of the season-how incompetent is that?
Even down to the small stuff like closing the toilets before people leave......
Everything says second best is good enough. We used to be great but we don't care anymore.
I get the feeling that without some sort of clear-out nothing will change.
As I say, pure speculation, but do I have a point?
Newsnight 13th May 2010: "With the role of Deputy Prime Minister a non-job. Has Nick Clegg gone from King Maker to tea maker????"
I kept the faith and I kept voting Not for the iron fist but for the helping hand For theirs is a land with a wall around it And mine is a faith in my fellow man Theirs is a land of hope and glory Mine is the green field and the factory floor Theirs are the skies all dark with bombers And mine is the peace we knew Between the wars

Ermmmmmmmmmmmmm......................... Yep, can't dissagree with any of this to be honest.
Conroy - Being a Latics fan i'm already immune to watching sh*te.
Sally Cinnamon - Treat the Saints forum as you would if you met a girl from St Helens. Best policy would be to avoid altogether but if you absolutely can't resist temptation then take every possible precaution.

Yes also
A chairman that seems to be a yes man, does not seem to have a back bone
A coach that won`t give local talent a chance.
very poor marketing skills in all respects
Players that don`t have any pride
where do we go from here as I don`t want my team to be the laughing stock of SL even though it happened at the end of last season.
The club never recovered from Central Park going in the late 90s. The soul of the club died then. We are now based at a venue where we are clearly not wanted - with little prospect of moving.
You know its bad when real loyal fans just don't enjoy going anymore - and to be truthful I'm getting towards that stage. I know I'll keep going but I really can't see anything changing whilst we remain in the JJB. We can change coach, playing personnel, whatever - but nothing will change.

Not sure about the coach being a yes man, he doesn't answer to anybody. If you mean the stadium and DW, remember that he's bound by contract, details of which we're not privvy to.

I think we have a chairman with good intentions but little idea of how to run a rugby league club. He should do what Dave Whelan did, keep his ownership of the club but let someone else with experience of running a rugby league club run the club.
Brian Noble should go - if he is 100% responsible for the recruitment at the club then he should go. Richie Mathers extended contract? Cameron Phelps keeping talent at the club like Ainscough out while taking up a quota spot? Riddell for Higham? Strengthening on the wing when we should have looked for a prop forward? Tim Smith to replace Barrett? Richard Moore, Ryan McGolderick potential targets?

Didn`t say the coach
but IL does not seem to disagree with anything or anyone he does seem to be a yes man.
