Then he's made up for the previous week thats all.

Pressure will lift on Noble when he puts in a run or five to six games where not only do we win, but we play well and you can see a marked improvement from the majority of players week after week. That the sign that things are good in the camp and the players are responding to the training.

There is zero point winning by 40 points on Friday and then either losing or just scraping out a win against Cas the week after!

It make sound like anti Noble BS but I you have to admit this Wigan team seem only to be motivated by outside influences not Noble him self! Think about it for a min when have we played the best under Noble;

When there was a threat of relegation over us
When we get through to sudden death playoff elimination game
When the fans and Chairman criticised the players perfomances

When ever this team is challenged by something outside the club it responds well. All the above are outside influences and all are times when we’ve played our best rugby? Coincidence…..

Given Noble is out of contract at the end of the season the longer he stays in 2009 the cheaper it gets to fire him as IL would have less of this years wages still left to pay.

So here is a prediction.

IL won't fire him until at least half way through the season regardless of results assuming we play badly.

Then with not long of the season left IL will act. It will look like he has done what the fans have asked and got rid of an under performing coach so his standing with the fans goes up and Nobby takes the blame.

In reality all he will have done is wait until it's cheap enough to fire him!

Cynical me?

Of course a miracle could happen and Sunday was a mere blip and we go one to win the win the CC or the GF having blooded several youngsters along the way. Now where is that emoticon of a flying pig?

Dave

Not sure the implication BUT

Noble stated in a press interview with one of the League weeklies that his contract with Wigan is a rolling type.

I sometimes what some posters are sniffing?! You are bang on the money, we did not drop ball by not being able to catch we generally lose the ball in contact, due to garbage technique, something that could and should have been sorted by the coach and also because the defence knows exactly who is getting the ball and is able to pressure them/fully comitt to the tackle as there is nobody else running a support/dummy line!

As for the arm wrestle we always engage them in this RHJ and 9 times out of 10 we lose that arm wrestle and that is the problem Noble does not know anyother way to play than this.

RHJ I would suggest the next step for us in your opinion would be to have 5 scoots and a kick as that is the only simpler game plan than we are employing at the minute.

Could not have put it better myself. Re technique. Twice Wakefield punched the ball free from players carrying the ball incorrectly.

In 2008 we never won more than 3 consecutive games. We need to be winning 8-12 to have turned this mess around.

I think that means when it's up there is an option to extend it. I assume you didn't think he has a job for life such that his contract is automatically renewed or that if he got sacked the club would have to pay him more than what remains on his current contract?

No I was just worried if the option to extend favoured him as opposed to having to be in favour of the club.

A rolling contract simply means it is on a year by year basis, usually offered to coaches where the Chairman does not have much confidence in them, and they have to earn a longer deal.

Or in the King of spin Nobles case it is no doubt a deal that allows him to consider his options and offers that no doubt flood his way every year after "saving" the biggest rugby club in the world from relegation.

That is it and what I am looking for. Not winning despite of the RL the team plays but because of it. I have no doubt however if we win some will be claiming all is well.

An interesting point!
