Mathers is a lad without any confidence. However the booing of him prior to the game was pathetic.

That being said, time has to be called on him. Roberts to FB with Goulding back in next week. Or even Bailey to centre. I dont care for those who want attacking rugby, we need a defence first.

Didn't notice any? :?

Even if there was I think today proved it was completely justified. He was hopeless last season, yet we extend his contract?

Proved a good move so far from Noble and Lenegan.
Great game of rugby league. Fantastic atmosphere, Wigan were breathtaking and dominant in all areas for the first 25 minutes, coupled with us making alot of dumb mistakes, then fortunately they brought McIlorum on which helped us back into the game. I thought some of the tries we scored to get us within two we're out of this world stuff. Towards the end we had to force it a little and we had a few things go wrong, i.e Monas kick on the first for King and Solomona going off who was causing havoc. Wigan were clinical in their eventual execution of us. Proud of Wire today and gave us a little glimpse to the future. Silverwood was awful as per, but I expect no less. Tomkins is a world class player and by far the best english player in SL. Wigan are a champion side and would be a worthy winner of taking our title as challenge cup. Good luck over the next month and a bit.
I think that was aimed at the decision to put him on the pitch not him personally

3 players who continue to be a waste a space week in week out, why should anyone be suprised by the standards witnessed today i'll never know.

As Noble stated, players will be picked on form this season. I fully expect these three to be missing from the Hull game next week.

All 3 were and are truely awful and shouldn't be anywhere near the side next week. Nobles team selection today was woeful and his unwillingness to ick anybody who's not below the age of 25 or foreign is a shambles.

Mathers jas no bottle whatsoever and doesn't want to command the situation like a fullback should. To think i had pipe dreams that we may see a Richards style comeback from him

where re all these people saying he needs his chance now?

he's had his chance, he can f*ck off.

no doubt him, phelps, bailey, coley will all be in the team next week when goulding, ainscough, mossop and prescott deserve their place more than them. :P

Woeful today.

Wakey kick upfield and if Mathers isnt directly under it, then he lets it bounce.

For once we arent short of backs, Mathers needs dropping.

I dont think its a stretch to say he will be.
