Heaving not rewatched the game and posting for this feeling very hungover in a Travelodge in Walthamstow I thought Smith had a shocker, but he did provide the quality at the end to get us over the line, when the reality was we probably didn’t deserve it on balance of play.

Wasn’t a classic but we found a way to win.

I thought Smithies was our best on the day but probably fair for McQueen to get the Lance Todd, he was outstanding.

Superb support play for the Smithies offload, great tunnel ball to Thornely to set up the field try and superb vision and composure for the final try.

Huddersfield should have concentrated on trying to score more points rather than play the percentages.

Made up for loads of players, Marshall in particular. And all the young lads who’ve had 3 tough years breaking into the team under Lam.

The transformation Matty Peet has done with the club in such a short time is phenomenal. The whole vibe of the club has changed under his leadership.

Hope Jackson Hastings and Hardaker enjoyed watching that!

This season has already surpassed my expectations, let’s just plod along in the league, support the lads, enjoy watching French and Field, blood some more young lads, not stress too much about the odd defeat.

Hopefully get in the playoffs and see what happens. It’s a free crack this year with no pressure.

Still can’t understand why super dooper best team in SL era Saints didn’t pick up the trophy!

Made up, 20 times!

Wigan rugby league.

The greatest rugby league club the world has ever known.

Massive fry up in the local cafe in Crystal Palace required before heading home . Spurs stadium outstanding but nightmare trying to get back to Central London . Night in the pub watching the football knowing number 20 was in the bag

The right team won. The team that brought fans down won. The team that actually contributes positively to this sport won. That's all that matters.

Great win for Peet in his debut season too. There's obviously changes that need to be made to move this team forward, but it's so positive to see us back to winning ways .

Don’t think it’s fair to have a pop at the Giants fans.

I was in the Giants end and they were outstanding throughout the game creating most of the atmosphere. They were on their feet on mass for most of the game. It was only small packets of the game the Wigan fans were adding to the atmosphere and at the end obviously.

Not a pop at our fans as it was that kind of game, but I do think the Giants support was fantastic and a credit to their club on the day.

A shocker?!? He scored a try with some great support play, kicked all the goals, was tough in D and created the match winning moment!! What more do you want? I think you should have watched the game from the Wigan end. Being amongst the Huddersfield fans seems to have clouded your vision.

On the game: The best team didn't lose. The best team isn't one who has many of the best opportunities but isn't good enough to take them or who plays to "not lose" rather than to win. The best team is the one that scores the most points, that takes their opportunities when they come and who plays to win over 80 mins.

Champion teams are ones who can find a way to win even when not at their best. Congratulations Huddersfield on winning the arm wrestle. Congratulations Wigan on winning the trophy.

scored the winning try v Stains
scored the winning try v Hudds
Take a bow Marshall
All the talk was about French/Field,they got us back in the game Marshall finished it.
what a back 3 we have at the min .
Matt Peet you did the team and town proud and the way you conduct yourself is a pleasure to watch.

Huddersfield had the chance with 4mins to go in fact they had chances all through the game but a great side whilst not playing good will hang in there and never give up and if the chance happens will take it,which Wigan did.

First part of my prediction at the start of the season has come true if any others do the we are on for hell of a season.

It's a pity they don't do that on those multiple occasions when it's not the Challenge Cup Final.

Huddersfield are one of the consistently worst-supported teams in SL.

I don't blame them for coming and enjoying their big day out, but after the way the Wigan fans rallied and supported the Warriors when they were facing the possibility of relegation, I'll never consider our lot second fiddle to anyone.

I'm not impressed by 'fantastic support' when it's only for the Cup Final.
