Manfredi has been out with two long term injuries and since his return from those injuries has not produced the form he showed when he first got into the team and is again injured.
As Burgess has left and Marshall is also got a long term injury, we have no specialist wingers.
Please don't say we have any number of players who could fill the wing positions when outside Manfredi and Marshall, we have no specialist wingers like Makinson and Grace, Briscoe and Hanley, Davies and YaYa, Ben Jones Bishop and Johnstone or even Charnley and Lineham.
The likes of Bibby and Hankinson or players like French and Field moving from their more effective positions is not the answer for a club which over many years has been famous for having outstanding and famous wingers.
And what specialist wingers did Saints,Leeds, Wakey, Catalan and Wire have outside the ones you listed? When Makinson was banned Saints had Costello or Welsby, Catalan had Tierney and Mead, Wire had Ashton and/or Mamo.
I would say that Manfredi, Marshall and Burgess were stronger than any of those.
It is non negotiable. Props win you pots. We had the best backs in the league and looked the most dangerous v Saints when in their half. Trouble was we were never in their half. Their pack was better.
You can stick anyone on the wing with the backs we have.
Props props props. George Burgess is the key in all this.

Whilst I agree with your comment about props, I differ regarding sticking anyone on the wing. It showed, in the GF, how crucial a recognised winger can be in converting chances.

Assuming here you are talking about Bibby. To be honest he had a better game than Burgess (a recognised winger). He scored a great try and missed out on another (which was well covered in defence anyway).
Someone on the other forum posted 'hope he doesn't leave'. Don't know which player they've been watching. I'll drive behind you just in case you break down. Absolute nothing player
Greenwood offers something a bit different to a lot of our other backrowers in that he offers some natural size and when he’s on, he is a threat. The issue we have is 1- he isn’t on enough and 2- he’s well down the pecking order.
I have no issues with him leaving if it’s for squad shaping purposes. To free you some space to use in other areas would be a wise move. I’d worry a little if we’re just trimming the squad though and not trying to change the balance. We can’t afford to go too far in cutting our depth. We’ve been lucky with injuries in the main this season but it’s the first season in a good while that we’ve been as lucky.
