I think young Thornley, with a bit of good fortune and good coaching could be better than Shenton.

He's bigger and faster.

Is he as quick out of the blocks Brian? i think this is what seperates Shenton from a few others, along with his ability to run an intelligent line.

Not seen much of Thornley.

Thornley is cartainly bigger and I would say faster, but Shenton is quicker off the mark.

However, if Thoernely gets the right ball then he can be a danger, very similar to a Newlove IMO.

I thought the best sign of Tomkins and Ainscough was the speed and reaction times the two had when spotting an opportunity. I was well impressed how fast Tomkins was to react and get up with the play in support when Carmont got the offload from Ainscough.
Thats the sign of a good rugby brain, being alert to everything.

Can't beat a little bit of 'cherry and white' enthusiasm to kick start a stuttering team into shape, well done boys!!

They very much so deserve their first team places against Bradford next week!!

Definately and based on performances Tomkins deserves to start in place of Smith, who should be left out completely for McIlorum. I very much doubt Noble will have the guts to do that though

It was brilliant, you could tell what it meant to Ainscough, he was very "excited" in the aftermatch interview.

Do you think he's been to the Gareth Hock elocution school?

Seriously, the club need to help the young players with media training as part of their development.

Yes he was.

The interesting point for me was when he said that there were seven players jut waiting for an opportunity.
