If we signed Kearney and Ratchford that would also leave enough money to try and sign an experienced forward to replace Hoffman(and possibly Coley). We've got Hock coming back in and some good youngsters coming through but to lose a couple of leaders like Hoff and Coley and not replace them may leave us a touch short of experienced heads especially with our 2 most experienced backs retiring aswell.
I've heard Saints and Wire both linked with Waterhouse and he wouldn't be a bad shout. He's had years worth of experience playing for Penrith, Australia and NSW. Another player out of contract we could make s move for would be Mark O'Meely. He's a tough grafter of a prop that could replace Coley and allow Hock to take Hoffmans place.
Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good - sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS
I would not be a fan of signing Kearney to play full-back because he is not an improvement on Tomkins IMO.
No idea about signings this year, I am confident the club will do a good job but there isn't really one player standing out who I really want us to sign unless it was a top name.

Who is?
Kearney is a top FB playing at #6 in a very poor side.
Put him in the Wigan side at FB with Sam at HB and we'd be stronger than we are now without a shadow of a doubt.
You can't fully judge Kearney on his Bradford form as let's face it they are gash. I don't care who you are anyone would struggle in a poor team. Look at Patten FFS he's been one of the best FB's going but simply without the game plan or support he's not able to shine.
Kearney at FB is a perfect match for this Wigan side. Fast, agile and can link in easily with play.
We do not need average, Kearney could prove me wrong as pre injury he was an outstanding player and these things take a couple of years to sort themselves out.
Ratchford, steady away, we have better not playing with the first team.
This week's Observer suggests that Hoffman is finalising deals to head back at the end of this season. It also stated that Wigan plan not to recruit from the NRL to replace him, instead bringing Hock back with the guys we already have will be plenty enough.
Looks like we will lose two overseas signings (Hoffman & Carmont) at least, with maybe/possibly Roberts (who knows)?

Opens up options for a top centre then I guess and maybe a prop to replace Coley.
