We need players who can improve us if we're going to bring anyone in - we dont need signings for the sake of it.

I didn't mean Inu for us. Nowhere near our standard but a good signing for Widnes. A massive upgrade on Armstrong.

I don't know if you've noticed, our standard is p!$$ poor, the 90's are a long time ago, fans need to get this Standard crap out of their minds fps

I'd like be to think we're scouting at this World Cup and looking at some of the big Fiji and PNG forwards who've been excellent but they're probably too big for us to bother with.

The 11 and 13 from Fiji have been sensational throughout the tournament. Looking at their NRL careers the 11 is Viliame Kikau who played 9 games for Penrith last year and the 13 is Tui Kamikamica who played a grand total of 2 games for Melbourne. They're both 6ft 3+ and they're very powerful ball runners.

If there is business still to be done then I'd rather be trying for lads like them then going backwards with people like Hock.

Big raw boned aggressive Prop. Exactly what we need. Our pack is powder puff light. Bateman seems to have mellowed and MM definitely has. Both formerly very aggressive players now seem pussycats compared to the days they were firing into Jamie Peacock & Ryan Bailey at the Magic Weekend.

Hock is the perfect fit. Unlikely however and to be fair you can understand why.

Sorry jonh but we have be burned way too many times bringing players back just because they used to be good for us, Hock is finished at the top level and he is a penalty machine in just about every game he plays. If (and it is a very big if) we can bring someone in we need someone for longer term who we can build the pack around not a short term dodgy fix that will probably turn out to be another disaster. We need a pack leader - especially once Lockers finishes as I cannot see anyone in the current pack who offers that.

Rugby League wasn't invented in the 90's. So because the standard isn't great at the moment we should throw the towel in? Chuck away 100+ years of history and success and just accept it?

Those two have been terrific, with Wiliame and the centre Milne not far behind.

I would be very surprised if we were't looking very closely at the Fiji squad. I would imagine we would have already made contact with a couple of clubs.

I’m sure we’ll be looking, just as every other club will be. We’ve freed up some cap space but I’m not sure how much. We know Tierney has gone, as has Gabe Fell, Connor Farrell and although it doesn’t seem to have been announced, Bretheron has gone too. I’m fairly sure one or two other young lads moved on but can’t remember who? We’ll have some space on the cap but as I say, I’m not sure how much.

The lad who started at prop with the afro is at the Roosters but he's played a handful of games in two years. He was another who had a very good game.

You do have to be wary with form in a World Cup. Some players grow an extra leg playing for their country and if the atmosphere and momentum is right then even average players can look very good (just look at some of the lads at Cas) but there's 3 or 4 Fijian forwards who are worth a real look.

Although it sticks in my throat to say it, even Disco Thor was very good.
