i've heard a rumor that Daryl Goulding want's away as he's had enough of playing in the 20's. Has anyone heared anything??

he signed a deal when he was first choice for Wigan and England. Think he will be lucky to get either birth back so it would not surprise me.

Same here. IMO it would be better for him if he left Wigan. Hes at the age now where he should be playing first team week in week out but he's never going to get in the team unless we have a bad run of injuries. The day Gleeson left was sadly also the end of Gouldings Wigan career IMO. Shame really because they were shaping up to be a class wing/centre partnership. He just isnt as effective without Gleeson.

No, Goulding may also be our new centre nexy season. We cannot afford not to keep our depth. It is that which won us the title.

We cannot allow goulding, gleeson, pryce, carmont and amos to all go in one season

That's the price of success. players want to play! players wanna get paid!

You can only have so much depth and pay a certain amount. The cap sees to that. The better the Wigan kids get the more they will want for their services. Some will get more some won't. Some will stay others will leave. Some will have to leave to open space for the new kids. You become a victim of your own success.

You can only keep so many home grown players, the better they get the more they want (can't knock anyone for asking for more). The transition from "promising" to "proven" costs. It seems unfair but some clubs are by default a victim of their own success and other teams will benefit from the academy players they develop.

Just because he's been out of the side for a few weeks doesn't mean he should be shown the door - some people adopt very short-term views.

Goulding's a very solid player and was championed towards the end of last year as the most improved player in the side. He'll never set the place alight but an extremely useful player to have in your squad.
