its the clubs responsibilty to provide help and support in these circumstances to any player that requests it or offer it to players they know are in trouble.

the club cannot police what players do in their own time and nor should they. they are supposadly grown up professional people who should be shwon a certain level of trust. if they abuse that trust then the club should take action as they have done/will do (B sample pending)

until further info is released surrounding this incident, the club have done nothing wrong

The days of informing players what's safe and what isn't and then letting them get on with it have long gone. WADA offers extensive guidance on mitigating recreational and performance enhancing drug use among professional athletes. If Wigan chooses to disclose its efforts prior to the Hock case we shall see if it has acted responsibly.
