They were running at Tomkins all night and Sam never missed a tackle.A few times it was pure 1 on 1 and he never looked out of depth. Great technique round the legs.

Bailey did nothing spectacular he was just solid as usual.

That was on the Thursday night before the Quins game and Riddell couldn't have played as McIlorum was suspended.

Can you imagine the furor had Riddell played and got a slight injury that kept him out of the Quins game.

The Leigh one was postponed as Leigh couldn't raise a team.

I was somewhat confused about that. Leigh didn't manage to raise a team at all so we ended up playing Widnes' Reserves instead?

SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS

For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.

For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.

Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row

He did.
He missed the one when Menzies scored.

But, what I liked about him is that he was really annoyed with himself for missing that tackle.
Sam has a brilliant attitude, and is not a player who will go hiding if things go wrong for him (which at sometimes they will). He has belief in his own ability.

Did you see him shouting at the forwards during the game?

Go back and reread my posts on this issue, your obsession with me is becoming quite flatering by the way.

I said Bailey struggles against pace in the backline this is further compounded by the fact we used this move 2 forward and hold defensive line, we certainly have not used this as much in the second half againsts Quins or as much against Bradford, where we moved forward and met them, holding just prior to contact rather than holding 5 feet from contact.

The defence we play works against a flat ball game assuming we do hold closer to contact, but is still risky when a team plays a deep backline, like Cas and Trinity did as we hold too far from contact and it gives the ball handler time and space to get up to speed or make a decision.

Bailey is the second best centre at the club overall. Considering we have 2 centres spots he probably should get one.

With the way we played against bradford, I'm really hoping we can repeat the performance and give Leeds a good go.

Obviously I'm not expecting to put 40 points past them, but a win would be nice!

Looks to me like Jonh and Nobby finally agree on something! BN wants to sign a centre - and I don't think it's to replace Carmont.

No amount of technical jargon and back-tracking will disguise the fact that you rubbished the few of us who said we needed to move Bailey back to centre.

 sorry for posting a valid response to yours filled with analysis and reason, how silly of me.

I would also like to see where i "rubished" it, i simply said that under the systems we were employing i did not think it would work, seems to me until we changed this system it did not. My issue was with allowing defenders time and space to run at him, when they have on several occasions including against Quins he looked totally lost, against Bradford we cut down the space and it worked well, so again rather than trying to use it to have a pop, you actually prove my concerns were well founded. Thanks
