Lol the 35 year old Aussie Ben Reynolds retired over 10 years ago.

I'm not sure Wire will want the Leigh half. Surely they will go with Brown and Patton? Gidley is useless and drags them down.

Really? Someone on here (NK?) said we should go for Hodkinson because he's a 'steady Eddie'. Well, for me, Gidley is a much better and classier 'steady Eddie' than Hodkinson.

But I know he's at the end of his career now.

Well I disagree with most on Hodkinson. You don't become a SOO series winning half back by being a steady Eddie. Hodkinson is a classy half with a fabulous kicking game and whilst he might be out of sorts, with a new start he might get back to the level of class that got him his NSW call up. I'd love to see him in a Wigan jersey.

Agree with this, if he came over with a point to prove he could be a real asset. Tremendous organising half with a good kicking game and also a top goalkicker, win win if Tommy moves into the coaching setup

Would that be the same kind of Steady Eddie that was Smith and who was castigated on this site for not being exiting enough?

Gidley has played Origin too, mind. More than Hodkinson, in fact, although, to be fair, I'd guess many of Gidley's were off the bench. But I don't think there's much disputing that Hodkinson is a million miles away from SoO form nowadays. Whether a 'new start' could bring a decent upturn in form, well, who knows?

I described Hodkinson as a steady Eddie based on what had been written about him. I don't personally know a great deal about him but I did say if he is a steady Eddie then that's perfect for our needs.

Matty Smith wasn't steady enough but nor is Tommy Leuluai.
