Shenton was definitely poor last night. But like you say, he wasn't the only one.

On the evidence of that performance, Cas are pretty crap - and it's not just down to who was missing.

It was painful watching those laboured attacks, in which they never seemed use dummy runners, a second phase, cut-out passes, etc.

Players like Shenton will only stagnate in that atmosphere. It doesn't surprise me that he's looking for a way out. I wonder if Chase and Westerman will be far behind him?

With that in mind, is it wise having Ainscough and Tuson there?

Well they'll be made to work in defence, that's for sure.

Last night's match didn't showcase Ainey's skills very much. Was it three tries scored down his wing? I don't think he was totally responsible for any of them - the whole defensive line had been flanked easily, but he'll cop the blame from some quarters.

His centre certainly gave him plenty of space. Wasn't it Shenton?

I've never quite understood the hype that surrounds Joe Westerman. Maybe I'm wrong, but he doesn't look anything special to me and Phil Clarke comparing him to Paul Sculthorpe is ridiculous.

Rangi Chase though is a very talented player & one that I rate. I don't know where he would fit in our squad, but I would imagine if there is any unrest, he will get snapped up very quickly.

I'm very worried about the thought of not signing anyone for next season. Every team needs to strengthen and two seasons in a row without a major signing isn't a good thing. The team is doing well but still has some weak spots/holes which need to be filled by an experienced player and not a youngster.

Although I trust IL and Madge if we don't sign anyone it won't be because there is no one good enough it will down to a wage/worth issue IMO.

I hope if Madge wants a player then IL will stump the money up for him regardless of money.

Anybody know what the stasis with Ratchford at Salford is? There were a lot of rumors flying about last year in regards to him going here and there, anybody heard anything? Although not a position were short in, I'd like to see Ratchford at Wigan.

Also LMS had a good game for Quins today, and no doubt under the guidance of someone such as Madge and Wane could go onto great things.

For me the best of the youngsters at Cas is Owen, it's a shame the lads injured as he's a great talent, certainly better than Westerman and Shenton, and I believe he's younger than them as well.

LMS has been average at best this year and end of last for me. Holdsworth looks promising at Salford.
Agree about Owen.
