Yup that's what I've seen too.

Whilst I don't think this moronic bunch are representative of the majority of Latics fans, they do make up a fair chunk of them sadly.

Like you said it's unbelievable. IL is a decent guy and more importantly from a Latics POV, he's got strong footballing connections. He'll run a steady ship and look to promote youth - pretty much ticks every box you'd want from an owner

Surely these are a relatively small number compared to those who just want their club to survive?

I've heard before about fan power in football, but that usually refers to clubs like Juventus and Barcelona, who can call upon legions of supporters.

It surely must be the case that Latics' hardcore dissenters can walk away and no one will even notice?

Fully agree. The bitterness and pettiness appears largely one way these days. Its time the clubs came together. Whats amazing is that theres a large proportion of tics fans who can't do that, even when their future could potentially depend upon it!

I’d say you’re probably right but if you read the Twitter/Facebook comments on IL from Latics fans you get the feeling it isn’t a small number.

Ultimately if IL bought Latics they’d have to grin and bear it, pretty much like we have with the badge (two vastly different scenarios admittedly) and eventually they’d settle down. IL would run them well IMHO and do what’s best for them in the long term. They’d do a lot worse than IL as an owner.

Whoever takes over they're going to have to spend an awful lot on the stadium, I called into the club shop before Christmas and the stadium is looking incredibly tired.
No idea if the administrators laid off the ground staff but it needs a massive spring clean asap.

There was some talk a while ago about the Admins refusing even to talk about selling the stadium without the club.

Not sure if they're in a position to say that now, of course.

Our season ticket sales were delayed due to the ticket office being shut at the stadium because of Latics being in administration and in that press release a couple of weeks ago, they said they were going to wait to put them on sale until this Spanish takeover went through and they could use the facilities/systems at the stadium. That is a pretty big job the club now has to think of alternative arrangements for organising the sale of (hopefully) 8,000, 9,000+ season tickets.

Just one example of how it hits the rugby club already.
