Had to laugh at Keiron Cunningham and his annual round of bullish comments. Particularly funny was his comment that Wigan didnt know how to use Matty Smith and that he plans to 'unleash' him on Super League. http://www.totalrl.com/cunningham-walker-one-best/

Yep - he's trying to add a bit of sparkle to a pretty mediocre signing.
However - Smith is a good player and if partnered with the right SO could form a nice partnership. His pb at Wigan was that he was expected to do a job that wasnt a perfect fit. However, his consistency, work rate, fitness, kicking game and game management are all pretty solid.
Expect him to create chances and break the line and you'll be disappointed. Partner him with a free spirit and it might well work very well indeed. I would have loved to have seen how Smith and Sam would have worked together.

Anyone else heard about Gelling's brother coming over this season to play for the U19's?
Not sure if the guy who told me was winding me up or even if Gelling has a brother but if he has it could be an interesting signing?

I read that somewhere, but it said he didn't have a work permit to play professionally.

Seems a bit odd then to bring him over?
If he is any good then I suppose at that point the club would help him apply for a permit?

I didn't get the impression that the club 'brought him over', rather that he was just visiting his brother.

Yeah Gelling had said he's on an extended visit. He won't get a visa to play for the u19's but he might train with them and turn out for St Pats.

That sounds more logical.
A pity because if his brother is half as daft as Gelling then the post match interviews could have been very entertaining
