I would rather have Ben Cross TBH, tough as old boots but has had a few injuries over the last 2 years but he reckons he's got a few more years left in him and would like to stay in the NRL but will look at overseas offers.

He's 31 but I'm sure Magde will know whether he's worth signing fom their days at Melbourne.

When it comes to signing NRL players I just think MM will already know who he wants and probably did before he left for England. He will know the club any player is at and their likleyhood of unloading players either OOC or maybe salary cap reasons.
At the moment I can see him making few changes if the team continues as it has been going.
MM knows what he is about, what he wants to make success happen and that everything he does is well thought out in advance.
From the performance of the team which is virtually the same as last year he knows how to get the best out of players and bring a squad to a much improved level of performance.
MM is certainly ahead of the game and Wigan RL, together with us fans are reaping the benefit.

I would rather we stayed away from Aussies unless they are aboriginal, would rather see a nice big Kiwi or a humongous islander, Kiwi's/Oslanders always seem to offer better value of money imo

TBH I couldn't care if who we signed was Australian/Kiwi/British/Chinese or a Ethiopian. As long as it's the RIGHT player for the RIGHT position, of the RIGHT calibre for a SL Title challenging side.

Heard today a few interesting bits of Super League signings for next year.

- Shenton is now most likely to join Saints now, Shenton asked for too much money in Wigan's opinion and Saints are willing to offer it. Not done and dusted though.

- Lenegan will go to aus in the next few months and has targetted 3 players to look at but obviously can not sign all of them due to the quota rules coming down again this year.

- Warrington have already began talks with "a prop who plays in the NRL for a team in yellow". Very vague, i know. Moi Moi anyone?

Edit: forgot to mention too, we are still interested in Carl Webb.

BIG long term loss in regards to Shenton and Saints.

Shenton is a massive talent on par with the likes of Senior & Gleeson at that age. Saints will not only benefit from his talents but they've also just secured a quality talent for the next 10 years which can't be overlooked.

It can't be overlooked just how important a long term fix like that is. Yes he may not be as good as what they have now and they maybe able to get a better Aussie for a season or two but Shenton will be class for them season after season for the next decade and I also think he will be the best centre in SL in a few seasons time.
