We should run a book on who we think it might be.

I will start the conjecture off.

3rd choice as a winger would be Tom Johnstone of Wakefield, very raw but an incredible talent
2nd choice as a winger or fullback Donny Solomona of Castleford, he looks to be a superb player.
3rd choice Josh Charnley, the way he has played recently does not look like a player who is leaving, I just hope he has had a change of heart and Wigan could negotiate his resigning. Pie in the sky I know but I think Josh who was always made the scapegoat when things were going wrong (one of the few players who was publically criticised by the coach on a regular basis ) and that was why he thought it was time to move on.

You've definitely jinxed it now, all three of them are quality players, so watch us end up with a Jack Owens mk II.

Going off what Lenagan has said about keeping an eye on who gets relegated, possibly Carney/Caton-Brown?

Edit: never mind, Caton-Brown has gone to Wakey hasn't he.

I wonder if given the length of Manfredi's injury it would be worth not registering him as a player next year and going for either Carney or Mantellato on loan for a season depending on who goes down. Gives us the winger we need for next year without the conundrum of having 3 1st team wingers the following year.

What is some people's obsession with Mantellato? He is truly awful. I really would hope we weren't in for him. He is a bad winger, and no better goal kicker than Smith. If Salford go down I'd like us to look at Carney or junior Sau.
Of course we could just continue our trend of re signing ex players and get Thornley back. I really hope not though.

Agree about Mantellato not being all that. I love to see us go for someone like Kevin Naqama; there are some talented young outside backs in the NRL. I always liked Ricky Leutele too, but I don't imagine he'd be prised from a winning side now.

And if Charnley and Solomona both end up at Sale, that will be another blow for our sport.

It'll be a blow that ought to be felt at Red Hall.

I'm totally fed up with seeing those inert idiots just sitting their on their overfed behinds while all our assets drift away.

It's really time something was done about this.

I think people see him as a bit of a Pat Richards because he's tall, plays on the wing and kicks goals but in terms of quality he's possibly not even superleague standard. He's slow and clumsy from what I've seen and his kicking percentage is as low as Matty Smiths I think.

A centre/wing who could kick would be absolutely ideal but he ain't the man. I said on another thread of potentially be looking to see if Catalans were willing to offload Kristian Inu (presuming he'll be back to full fitness next year).

To pick up on other Catalan related matters.1 Navarette is in my view a considerable prospect 2 Taylor has been our second best player this year. Escare cannot tackle and is hopeless under the high ball, unless it's kicked from a long way out.

I can't comment on Navarette, but Taylor would be a lot of salary cap for a forward who can sometimes be a passenger , Escare is one of the worst defensive full backs around i dont think his offensive play balances that.
