He's a stand off - let's not go down that road again. We need a 6 and a 7, not 2 of either number.

Add to this he is not getting on at all well with his coach, the future does not look good for him at the Roosters.

But a stand off is what we need. TL and ST are both scrum halves.

I think Tomkins is pretty comfortable at both slots, do not see an issue with bringing in a specialist 6 personally.

I don't consider Leuluai in my thinking for the halfback positions in future seasons and I hope Wigan are adopting the same approach.

I always had it in my head that Tomkins was a 6. I would have thought his best qualities mean he is more suited to that position.

Either way whoever gets assigned the the 6 and 7 - we need an organiser and a creator to play alongside the more off the cuff, running style of Tomkins.

Bang on.

We need a 7. An organiser and a playmaker for Sam to run off as a second receiver.

Maybe people see Sam as a 7 cos of his size.

May be wrong and i apologise if i am but were you not the bloke advocating the use of split halves with no real consistent link up play between the 2?

What is your point? I suggest split halves to use both Long and Myler in the same team to develop Sam and Myler over time.

I've never once in any other post promoted the use of split halves. I think when used effectively they work very well at Storm for example, but I would always prefer a 7 as 1st receiver, 6 as second.

I was also the poster who explained the differences between split halves and traditional halves, implying in that post which method I preferred.

Do NSW use split halves, just thought you would know with them being your favourite team,

oh and by the way its a yes for tonight, not sure if we have enough remotes though as I won't be going home.
