irrespective of whether Shenton knows his left from his right , could we not sign him and then loan him back to castleford for 2011 ? with a view to replacing carmont in 2012

Doesn't Carmont's contract end this year? Or did he have another year clause?

He's on a 1+1 deal. A certain amount of appearances this season will see his contract automatically get another year added on.

He played right centre because Evans was injured. Once Evans is back, he'll move back to left centre.

It's an awesome prospect isn't it!

Our backrow basically looks sorted for the next 7 or 8 seasons and thats a huge area of the side to have boxed off already. When we have young players in from other area's of the squad like Sam Tomkins, Ainscough, Goulding, Prescott, O'Carroll, McIlorum etc tied into deals aswell things really do look very rosy.

It's an exciting time to be a Wigan fan at the moment.

I think you underestimate other teams youth and back rowers.
Take Saints back row for next 7 - 8 years
Ashurst 19
Dixon 19
Wilkin 26
Clough 23
Soliola 23
Magennis 19

Lockers and Hock both late 20s. No guarantee Hock will come back as good or whether Maguire will want him back in the squad. Hock will probably end up a journeyman type player doing a job for clubs like Wakefield and Cas
