Well that's Blake green and manu touted to be Coming to superleague, two positions we desperately need to strengthen. If we aren't making efforts to bring either to Wigan then I think it highlights that IL is far more interested in a romantic notion of a Wigan team from Wigan rather than actual success. I'm all for youth systems but this cannot solely be relied on and you still need a sprinkling of quality external signings
There's no point in signing winger(s) until we have centre(s) who are capable of doing their job. i.e. creating space and putting their winger away via passing the ball!

Fully agree. Unless we sign some quality that we are as yet unaware of.
I think Vatuvai would be a very risky signing tbh. He's quite injury prone and I've never quite got the hype. I'd rather any rumours about McGillvary, Solomona or Burgess be true.
As for Blake Green I think most people would agree we'd like him back. The big worry is who kicks the goals then if he were to replace Smith but in general play he's a much better player.
Hurrell and Vatuvei both linked to SL, along with Green, Leuleui and a host of quality NRL players who still have plenty of life left in them, slightly concerning is the fact we are not even being linked with any of them.
Let's hope our targets are identified, and negotiations well under way with the right quality of player as without doubt we need to be bringing real quality into the team for 2017.
Vatuvei and Hurrell partnership would totally tear super league up. Far too much quality there to ignore. If let all the above mentioned players pass us by I will despair. Other clubs have recruited really well and Wigan need to keep up. With the conveyor belt of youth production and some good quality southern hemisphere signings to compliment we could be dominant. The signing policy is becoming a huge frustration.
Manu and Hurrell? No thanks. That would be a total throw back to the days when we had players with poor attitude who don't take things seriously, at times this is a 'bad apple' situation with other players being influenced by the not so professional players.
Both the two mentioned have strong attributes, namely Hurrell who would still be a wrecking ball in the NRL if he trained properly and had the right attitude and professionalism.
Wane and Madge before him have set a good standard for what it means to be a professional, we should only sign players who can fulfil this mentality.
I'm sure Sam T knows a lot more than he's saying (in public, at least), but you have to say, the Warriors do look a complete car-crash, and it's clear there's something radically wrong with the set-up there. I know they've been really unlucky losing RTS, but nevertheless, when you look at the squad they have (including the most skillful individual player on the planet), their results are rubbish. And have been for a number of years. Coaches come and go, and none seem to make a lasting improvement.
